EXOTIC STYLE

The inspiration for this shoot came from the china pattern used in the shoot - Royal Crown Derby English Bone China - Old Imari - which is a traditional china pattern distinguished by its rich colors and intricate gilding. I’ve loved this pattern since I was a little girl when I first saw it in my grandmother’s china cabinet. The exotic gold, black and red hand-painted details on each plate create such a unique depth of field on a table.

Tropical florals

From Blooms and Co. : Tropical flowers are making their comeback in a big way and this was the perfect opportunity to put them to good use. King protea and the Banksia Protea have such great foliage as well as amazing blooms that are the perfect focal point to design around. The colors of the protea lend themselves to bridal work so fabulously. Many tropical flowers are so bright and can be harsh. The mix of softer tones like the garden roses and light protea with the brighter orchids, pin cushion protea and celosia was the perfect balance to compliment this bride without stealing the show.
