The Wedding You Want Right Where You Are

Santa Fe Wedding Inspiration

When you live in a wedding destination, it's easy to feel like you need to cater your wedding design to the type of wedding your location is known for. Hawaii=beach wedding, Vegas=Little White Chapel, and for this Santa Fe team, usually, New Mexico=boho. But they wanted to challenge that mentality. After all, the boho aesthetic probably doesn't speak to every couple in that area, so why should they change their big day to fit their location? For this shoot, they set out to create a luxurious romantic elopement right there in Santa Fe, and they pulled it off beautifully!

Lace And Bow Bridal was inspired by Bridgerton and you can definitely see it in the soft pastel color palette. And they couldn't have found a better venue than Bishop's Lodge whose dusty blue and peach accents worked seamlessly with the design. Floral Elegance completely transformed this desert location with these lush romantic floral arrangements. Maura Jane Photography

took these beautiful photos and that New Mexico sun makes them glow! Keep reading to hear more about why this design was so successful and see how you can apply these techniques to make your location fit your style.

LOCATION DOES NOT DICTATE DESIGN

Santa Fe Wedding Inspiration

A love that consumes you with passion, excitement, and inspiration- that is what this New Mexico team of vendors wants to represent. After the most recent Bridgerton season aired, Taylor with Lace And Bow Bridal and Maura from Maura Jane Photography set out to encourage local New Mexico couples that having a luxury style was possible in a place known for its bohemian aesthetics. Maura began by picking the perfect gown, Cassandra by The Wild Love Collective, to fit the perfect models as the muse for the rest of the shoot. From there, a spring luxury style was inspired. Our models, Shawn and Nikki Wallace were just recently married in 2021, which gave them the perfect opportunity to cherish more pictures in celebration of their new chapter together.

THE FLORAL TIPPING POINT

Santa Fe Wedding Inspiration

Upon further research, Taylor and Maura knew they had found the perfect venue when they toured Bishop's Lodge. The Wedding Chapel on site was the perfect backdrop with its soft white and blue hues. Once the location was set, the next step for having specific detailed shots was to find the right tablescape items to go with the farm table provided by Bishop's Lodge. One stop at Colorado Party Rentals and the search was over. Between the Natural Wood Bentwood Chairs, the Bianca China Collection, the Aura Gold Rim Glassware, and the Velo Gold and Grey Flatware, this was meant to be. Perfect gold accents to added to the garden spring color palette. Adding the Aurora white runner and Hidden Garden Oxford linen napkins from BBJ La Tavola tied everything together perfectly. As the details started to come together, other vendors started to join the team. One look at the mood board and Crystal from Floral Elegance instantly understood the assignment. Her florals were the tipping point for this shoot to become all it was dreamed to be. Using some of the fresh florals for emphasis on the outside, Heather with Three Baby Birds Baking created the perfect spring-styled 2-tier cake. The outside was beautiful and the flavors were phenomenal.

DRESS FOR THE WEDDING YOU WANT

Santa Fe Wedding Inspiration

Shawn was sporting a beautiful blue suit from Suits Unlimited that complemented Nikki’s powder blue heels sent by Bella Belle Shoes. Savannah from Betty Rose By Alanna found the perfect hair and makeup style to complement Nikki’s dress. For our final detailed touches, Devonna with Funky Olive Design created some intricate details for our stationery items, including New Mexico state-shaped menu cards. With delicate butterflies, velvet envelopes, and beautiful pressed flower wax seals, these items were everything you’d imagine for an elegant dreamy wedding. This New Mexico team went above and beyond to capture the true style behind a spring luxury aesthetic. It was like watching a real-life Bridgerton event happen in front of you. With florals everywhere and love in the air, this was nothing short of magical.

SOME TIPS FROM THE PRO

mjp_5591

1. While planning your wedding, don’t feel obligated to stick to the norm. Focus on the aspects that are important to you.

2. Take a step back. See the bigger picture, rather than getting stuck on individual details.

3. The planning process can sweep you off your feet, so be sure to take moments away from planning to simply enjoy where you are in the process with your partner. Don’t rush the planning. Enjoy it!

4. Also, make it your own, one of the best new trends is nixing tradition and making the wedding truly about who you are as a couple.
