Torre de Palma

Looking for some peaceful and quiet place to get married where you can go back to your roots? For those that grew up with the Alentejo, Portugal, simple way of living, you can find the most mind free places and experiences here. Torre de Palma, a very exclusive rustic chic wedding destination that dates back to 1338, is full of details, history, and culture. The place was inspired by the way of life of the distinguished Basilii family (former inhabitants of the nearby Roman ruins of Torre de Palma). This concept of traditional but modern venue led us to create a wedding that suited the place and the couple’s energy, with unique elements.

Located in the middle of nowhere, you really get that cozy family feeling with an environment surrounded by exquisite decorations full of wood, glass and concrete details. The decoration was inspired by the minimal materials and textures that we found around us at the venue – greenery, glass, and concrete.

All the stationery, decorations, and cake design had a strong concept. We wanted to show that with a very simple and clean concept we could have multiple design elements without overwhelming the style of the venue. We were also looking for a comfortable and a cozy space that would make guests feel at home.

The Perfect Day

Amy and Jack are a young couple that love to travel and have new experiences abroad, so it was obvious they dreamed of getting away to get married. They share a very strong and genuine relationship, so they chose a laidback style for their big day with a very simple decoration, beginning with a brunch and spa with a view of the vineyards. The warm Portuguese weather at the end of the summer allowed them to have a full day for two. They got ready together, so they could truly share their love and intimacy in a boudoir session, in their hotel room.

The bride’s dress was a playful and romantic lace dress, while the groom chose a pair of navy slacks and a cream-colored suit jacket, an outfit that made his amazing eyes pop! The bride arrived at the ceremony on her favorite horse and they exchanged vows in an olive grove during at sunset. Dinner was served in a very special former oven house, an enchanting room exclusive for intimate dinners, where the lamp structure above them was an old upside down wooden bathtub.

Hidden Sweets

To find their cake the bride and groom were sent to explore the hotel. Along the way, they found a very special room with the remains of a dinosaur!  In the tower, the bride and groom watched a beautiful sunset on the Alentejo never-ending flatlands. After which they took a refreshing dip in the pool, and warmed themselves by an outside fireplace filled with candles and pillows. What a way to meet Alentejo! It was the perfect fairytale.
