So, this morning I was considering what to have for breakfast (although I don’t even know why I stress about what to eat, because at 7.5 months pregnant, I usually end up eating 4 breakfasts each day… don’t judge), and on the phone with my business-trip-returning husband, he reminded me that we “do have our waffle iron… just sayin.” Right away, I was like screw my Special K, it’s waffle day. And it’s pretty fitting since TOMORROW (August 24th) is actually National Waffle Day itself. Yep, it’s real.
Our waffle iron was easily one of the best things on our registry – and a gift that we’ve used countless times, especially now with a son who shares his mommy and daddy’s love for all the carbs. Come to think of it, all of the things that we registered for [for breakfast] were bought and have become kitchen all-stars for us. Our juicer and blender (the Ninja is no joke) are staples, because we live for smoothies and won’t pass up anything with carrot and apple juice… Our toaster is the GOAT, I honestly can’t count the amount of times I’ve dropped in bagels, Pop Tarts (again, no judgment, it’s a preggo thing), toast, etc. And it’s not all appliances, either, from cereal/oatmeal/acai bowls to our favorite griddle, we own the breakfast category in our household. Truth be told, my hubs does most of the cooking here, but my son will tell you, “mommy makes the best cheesy eggy everrrr!” So at least I have that 🍳
