A shoreline Maryland reception customized down to the napkins

elopement wedding dresses

Christina and Adam went non-traditional for their Eastern Shore, Maryland wedding. They got married a few days before their reception at a beautiful sunrise elopement ceremony in Harpers Ferry, Virginia, in order to continue Christina’s family’s tradition that they all have the same wedding anniversary date. They had a video created from their elopement that played on loop during the reception for guests to feel like they could be a part of their special day.

Their guests’ experience was at the forefront of their planning process

Their ceremony plans weren’t the only non-traditional part of their day. One of the things that was most important to them for their wedding day was that people weren’t waiting for things. They wanted open seating, and they wanted food and drinks to be flowing and flexible for the entire evening so people never had to worry about waiting in line or missing out on something.

They had some custom stations added on top of their amazing catering services that included an oyster bar during the cocktail hour and a cigar rolling service by Cortez Cigars for later in the night.

They chose what to splurge or save on (hello, DIY!) with purpose

Christina and Adam also put in a lot of time DIY-ing items that they really wanted to make their wedding unique but didn’t necessarily want to pay wedding rental prices for. They ended up making their own beautiful statement welcome drink wall to greet their guests with frozen margaritas and orange crushes as they entered the reception.

They got creative with customization, even putting fun couple facts on their cocktail napkins

Customization was clearly a focus throughout the entire event, from cups to koozies, napkins to cocktails. They also hand-poured and labeled custom spices for their guests’ favors at the end of the night.

Overall, this wedding was an amazing night with an amazing team and amazing people from start to finish. Who wouldn’t have a great time under those stylish and fun disco balls!
