This couple wanted to have a wedding full of bright and vibrant colors, a view of the beach, and summer camp vibes. Their lakeside wedding at Basin Harbor is full of save worthy ideas especially if you are planning a summer wedding and wanting to include your dog in your special day. We absolutely adore the watermelon margarita named after their pup Marty!

Liz and Trevor met over six years ago through mutual friends while working at the same company. They hit it off immediately and never turned back. After dating for a while and then living together for a few years, marriage seemed like the next logical step. On vacation in Cape Cod, Trevor surprised Liz with a ring on one of her favorite beaches for the perfect proposal.

This lakeside wedding was inspired by the bright and vibrant colors of summer and the beauty of the beach. The paper goods and florals were bold and bright to match Liz’s vision, and the fun summer camp vibes of Basin Harbor radiated positivity. Even their pup, Marty wore a collar with colorful blooms and had a watermelon margarita named after him. Liz’s childhood friend sang “My Girl” by the Temptations for the Father-Daughter first dance, and they invited her mother halfway through the song to dance with them as well.

Wedding Advice From The Couple

“If you really want something and are envisioning your wedding a certain way, go for it! We didn’t have a wedding party and we didn’t have a wedding color, and that’s okay! We rolled with it and I think those little changes, while different than what the majority of people do, helped me make our wedding stand out.”
