This Is Why You Say Yes to Velvet Bridesmaid Dresses
Let’s discuss our favorite things for fall RN: Halloween treats, non-PSL sips, and every single new collection of bridal wear that came out of fall bridal market. Oh! And one more thing: velvet dresses. We posted a pic of a smoke show girl squad yesterday, all wearing velvet gowns, and guess what - your 😍😍😍 matched ours over here. 100p. That, our friends, is what velvet does. It makes everyone a believer.

Aren’t they gorg? And not just because the autumnal, rose goldy-copper-blush color is on-point AF (pulls in that protea palette brilliantly). Moreover, we just love how the velvet photographs. The light and shadowing in the shot is absolutely stunning, it just illuminates the striking texture on the gown - so soft, so feminine, so rich. Love it as much as we do? We actually feel like we found a [sewing] needle in a haystack with this post, because truthfully you don’t see bridal parties decked out in velvet dresses every day - next to chiffon, cotton, crepe, organza, silk and tulle, that is. These fabrications own the maids market, but velvet is in a class of its own, and for the brides who choose it for their girls, you get allllll of our 🙌 You ballsy brides, you. We admire your risks and we honor you with reposts (ones that just happen to get hundreds of comments from brides and maids who want to do what you did with their own ‘I Dos’).

We actually chatted with the team responsible for outfitting the 2nd trendy tribe - Jenny Yoo - and here’s what they had to say about velvet vibes:
“Velvet seems to be an unexpected choice for bridesmaids, but for all of its benefits, it’s no wonder why the fabric is rising in popularity. Our velvet styles are lightweight, soft, and have great elasticity, making them easy to fit, and very figure flattering. The texture of the fabric is extremely forgiving and looks great on all body types. We love to play with colors in velvet: looking incredibly rich in deeper colors, it makes a perfect choice for a fall, winter, or even early spring wedding.”
And for anyone who worries about velvet being too heavy for the whole group, heed this advice:
