For Bella and Dylan, choosing a wedding venue was less about finding somewhere new and more about returning to a place already filled with memories.
Growing up in Sonoma County, Bella had spent years making memories with family and friends at her childhood home. When she and Dylan began imagining their wedding, celebrating in that same backyard felt naturally personal. Instead of bringing their story to a traditional venue, they could begin their marriage in a place that was already deeply connected to their families and the life they had built.
The couple and Bella P Events & Design approached the design with the same sense of belonging. Natural tones, wood textures, and timeless details complemented the Sonoma County landscape, while some of the day’s most memorable elements, photographed by Alexandria Marie Photography, came directly from the property and Bella’s family history.
An organic design inspired by the Sonoma County landscape
Bella and Dylan wanted the wedding to feel as though it belonged in its surroundings.
Rather than dramatically transforming the backyard, they chose natural tones and organic wood textures that worked with the landscape. Timeless details with florals by Always in Bloom kept the overall aesthetic elevated while allowing the familiarity and character of the family home to remain part of the experience.
The setting itself already carried meaning, so the design did not need to compete with it. Instead, each choice was intended to complement a place where Bella had grown up and where many of their guests had already shared memories with the family.
Bella’s dad transformed the backyard for the wedding
Preparing a childhood home for a wedding also became an act of love in itself.
Bella’s dad spent countless hours getting the yard ready for the celebration, making his contribution to the setting particularly meaningful. The finished backyard was not simply a private wedding venue. It was a space prepared by family for a day that would become part of the home’s history.
For Bella, getting married there meant adding a new memory to a place already filled with them.

The couple also incorporated Bella’s family’s vintage Bronco into their wedding portraits.
Rather than bringing in a vehicle simply for its aesthetic appeal, they chose something with an existing history and connection to the family. Against the Sonoma County setting, the Bronco added character to the photographs while reinforcing the deeply personal nature of the celebration.
Even the portrait locations were meaningful. Bella and Dylan also took wedding photos on the backyard putting green, another familiar feature of the property with its own history for the family.
They served wine made from grapes grown on the property
One of the most distinctly Sonoma County details came directly from Bella’s own backyard.
Guests were served wine made from grapes grown on the family property, bringing the landscape quite literally into the wedding experience. In a region so closely associated with wine, the detail felt especially fitting, but its connection to the family home made it far more personal than simply selecting a local bottle.
It was a subtle way to share another piece of the place Bella and Dylan call home with everyone celebrating alongside them.
A wedding speech became a tribute to both families
Some of the day’s most significant details had nothing to do with the decor. During his speech, Dylan honored the important men who had shaped his life. He concluded by recognizing Bella’s father and acknowledging the impact he had made on both Dylan and Bella.
The moment carried even greater significance given how much of the celebration had been shaped by Bella’s dad, from the family property itself to the many hours he had spent preparing the backyard for their wedding.
They both took Bella’s maiden name as their middle name
Bella and Dylan found one more lasting way to honor her family after the wedding day was over.
When they married, they both chose to incorporate Bella’s maiden name as their new middle name. The decision preserved an important piece of her family’s identity while allowing them to carry it forward together into their marriage.
It also beautifully reflected the larger meaning behind their wedding. So much of the celebration was about honoring where they came from while beginning something new.
For Bella and Dylan, home was never simply the backdrop to their Sonoma County wedding. It was woven into nearly every part of it, making a familiar backyard the most meaningful place they could have chosen to begin their next chapter.
