We Brought Wedding Creatives Together IRL and Here’s What Happened

Share

For wedding vendors, wedding planning is essentially the ultimate collab, but you don’t get to pick your team. When you put it like that, it sounds crazy, right?! That’s why, at Wedding Chicks, we believe it’s important to bring those conversations out of the DMs and into the real world and connect the creatives that bring your vision to life IRL. Recently, we teamed up with The Boring Bar to host Boots & Botanicals, a curated outdoor gathering at Bloom Ranch of Acton. We brought together a hand-selected community of wedding industry creatives, including planners, venues, photographers, and floral designers, for an afternoon of connection, inspiration, and golden hour magic. We designed Boots & Botanicals to feel less like a networking event and more like a gathering of friends who happen to do really beautiful work together.

The Vision: Boots & Botanicals

We love a theme, and lately we’ve felt so inspired by the rustic charm and botanical beauty of California ranches—think wildflowers, open skies, and an effortlessly elevated outdoor aesthetic. Bloom Ranch served as the perfect backdrop to truly immerse our guests in the vibe and the moment. This vast ranch is Black-owned and represents a deep-rooted heritage, symbolizes sustainable farming, and serves as a center for engaging agricultural experiences. Generations of Black legacy have shaped this ranch, blending a deep reverence for the land’s history with a visionary approach to its future. By employing innovative, green farming techniques, the ranch not only honors tradition but also secures the fruitful bounty of the land for future generations. So you know we had to go farm-to-table with the food and drinks!

The Drinks

As guests arrived, they were treated to cocktails by The Boring Bar, hand-crafted and made to order on-site from recipes created just for the event. And yes, they used produce from the ranch! You guys, these cocktails were so unique and refreshing; we’re still thinking about them.

The Dress Code: Boots Encouraged

And of course, we had a suggested dress code. Guests were encouraged to dress in garden party meets western chic: flowy dresses, linen, floral prints, and, of course, boots! If you’re on the fence at all about doing this for your event, we cannot recommend it enough. Trust us when we say your guests will appreciate it. And the photos will turn out STUNNING! Just ask our photographer, Jeffrey Taylor—the creative genius behind these vibrant photos that capture the feeling of the event completely.

Planning Takeaways

  • Introduce your wedding vendors. It can be as simple as grabbing coffee together, or you can go all out and host a mixer like this so they can sync up their creative vibes.
  • Immerse your guests in the environment or location.
  • Curate the dress code.
  • Let the destination inspire the food and drinks.
  • And don’t forget to have fun!
