Coastal Wedding On The Cape Designed Around Oysters & French Lace

Share

Marin and Trey’s story began with what seemed like a simple introduction by Marin’s cousin, but their connection was immediate. Just one month later, Marin boarded a flight to Denver to meet Trey and his family, spending the week exploring the beauty of Colorado together. From that trip forward, they were rarely apart. While Marin completed her collegiate athletic career, the couple embraced long-distance dating, making every visit count while looking ahead to the day they could finally live in the same place.

Four years later, they returned to Colorado Springs, a destination already woven into their relationship through annual trips. During a winter getaway at The Broadmoor, Trey surprised Marin with a proposal just outside their room. Moments later, family and friends emerged from their hiding places to celebrate alongside them, transforming an already unforgettable proposal into a memory they would treasure forever.

Wychmere Beach Club on the Cape

For their wedding, the couple chose Wychmere Beach Club on Cape Cod, a place that held special significance for Marin after spending much of her childhood visiting the Cape. With help from Jessica Hennessey Weddings, the waterfront setting embodied everything they envisioned—bright, relaxed, and effortlessly elegant.

Detail we love: custom suit lining

Trey opted for an on-theme suit liner featuring coastal images in blue and white.

Featured bridal designer: Galia Lahav

Marin embraced timeless romance in a couture Galia Lahav gown crafted from exquisite French lace. A dramatic overskirt and sweeping train added movement and grandeur while preserving an effortlessly ethereal silhouette.

She completed her bridal look with softly tousled waves accented by a sparkling hairpiece, creating a style that felt both classic and contemporary against the coastal backdrop.

Timeless florals: blue & white hydrangeas

The floral design by Beach Plum Floral reflected the light, whimsical atmosphere the couple envisioned, complementing the soft coastal palette rather than competing with the surrounding scenery.

Photographed by Colton Simmons Photography, lush floral installations framed the ceremony while elegant arrangements carried the romantic aesthetic throughout the celebration, allowing the beauty of Cape Cod to remain an integral part of the design.

Pre-ceremony inspiration

Before the ceremony, the couple shared private vows along the shoreline, surrounded by rolling dunes and the calming rhythm of the Nantucket Sound. These quiet moments together became some of their most meaningful memories, reinforcing their advice to future couples: “Your memories of the day will be made in the little moments you take for yourselves.”

Guests then gathered as the ceremony unfolded on the rooftop lawn, framed by lush floral pillars and uninterrupted views of the water stretching beyond.

Detail we love: unique ways to use oysters & shells

Some of the day’s most meaningful details were also the most personal. Marin especially loved the thoughtfully curated invitation suite and custom seating chart, but the true standout was a collection of decoupaged shells handcrafted by her mother. Used as both table accents and guest favors, the shells honored the coastal setting while adding an unmistakably personal touch that guests could take home as a keepsake.

Standout venue moment: expansive windows

The celebration continued inside Wychmere Beach Club’s elegant waterfront ballroom, where expansive windows showcased sweeping views of the Nantucket Sound long after sunset.

The reception blended refined coastal style with warm hospitality, creating an inviting atmosphere where guests enjoyed fresh New England cuisine, including lobster rolls, Wellfleet oysters, and local clams. The combination of timeless interiors and waterfront scenery perfectly reflected the couple’s vision of understated Cape Cod elegance.

From dance party to bonfire

The evening began with what Marin and Trey affectionately described as an “epic” dance party, filling the ballroom with energy from the very first song.

As the night continued, guests made their way to the beach for a bonfire after-party beneath the stars. Surrounded by the sound of the waves, family and friends gathered one last time to celebrate, ending the weekend with laughter, conversation, and unforgettable moments along the shoreline.

A celebration a literal lifetime in the making

Every element of Marin and Trey’s wedding reflected the life they had built together—from honoring childhood memories on Cape Cod to creating intentional opportunities to slow down and fully experience the day.

The result was a celebration that felt joyful, deeply personal, and effortlessly elegant, proving that the most memorable weddings are often defined not only by beautiful details, but by the meaningful moments shared in between.
