Heirloom Estate Wedding On 200 Acres With An Epic Bugatti Carriage Arrival

Share

Some weddings are defined by beautiful design. Others are remembered for the stories woven into every detail. Held at Orleton Farm, a 200-acre heirloom estate lovingly stewarded by the Waller family since 1900, Harley and Katherine’s wedding was an extraordinary celebration of heritage, craftsmanship, and intentional luxury, planned with help from Hummingbird Bridal & Events. Rather than building a wedding around fleeting trends, the couple embraced the property’s remarkable history, allowing generations of family tradition to shape a celebration that felt both timeless and refreshingly original.

Captured by Hassan Haddad Photography, every element reflected a thoughtful balance between reverence for the past and a contemporary editorial perspective, resulting in a wedding that was deeply personal, beautifully restrained, and rich with narrative.

Wedding weekend inspiration

Designed by Hummingbird Bridal & Events, the wedding weekend unfolded as a carefully curated experience where history and modernity existed in quiet harmony. Rather than relying on excess, the design celebrated materiality, craftsmanship, and meaningful storytelling. Every installation, architectural moment, and guest experience felt intentionally connected to the estate itself, allowing Orleton Farm to become more than a venue—it became an active participant in the celebration.

Showstopping ceremony arrival

The ceremony – with florals by Fleur Events – embraced the property’s extraordinary legacy while introducing one of the day’s most unforgettable moments.

Katherine arrived in one of the family’s bespoke Ettore Bugatti horse carriages, a remarkable example of early twentieth-century craftsmanship that has long been associated with ceremonial occasions and prestigious carriage competitions. More than a grand entrance, the carriage represented generations of family history and the enduring artistry that has defined Orleton Farm for more than a century.

Heirloom bridal jewelry

Katherine’s bridal style echoed the same philosophy that guided the wedding as a whole—timeless, refined, and deeply meaningful. Among the most sentimental elements of her bridal look was a necklace created from a Tiffany & Co. heirloom brooch gifted by the groom’s mother and thoughtfully reimagined for the occasion. The transformation honored family history while creating something entirely new, serving as a beautiful symbol of continuity across generations.

Rather than relying on statement accessories, every finishing touch reflected quiet luxury and personal significance.

Custom equestrian details

Throughout the estate, bespoke details reinforced the couple’s appreciation for craftsmanship and thoughtful design. Guests discovered custom gifts inspired by Hermès saddlery traditions, including beautifully crafted leather horse-bit keepsakes that celebrated the property’s equestrian heritage. Harley’s own passions were reflected through a private vintage biplane displayed on the grounds, while an overhead installation inspired by flowing airstreams subtly referenced aviation without overwhelming the overall aesthetic.

Each detail contributed another chapter to the story, creating an experience that felt layered, cohesive, and remarkably personal.

Reception design: understated luxury

The reception continued the celebration’s understated approach to luxury. Rather than competing with the estate’s historic architecture, the design embraced it, allowing carefully selected details, elegant styling, and the property’s rich character to define the atmosphere. Every space encouraged guests to experience the celebration slowly, appreciating both the beauty of the surroundings and the history embedded within them. The result was an environment that felt sophisticated without formality and luxurious without excess.

Pink Pony Club after-party

As evening settled across the estate, the celebration took an unexpected turn. Guests followed a softly illuminated pathway conceived as a symbolic flight route, leading them toward a transformed barn that revealed the Pink Pony Club after-party. The transition created a striking contrast to the day’s quiet elegance, introducing playful energy while remaining thoughtfully connected to the overall design narrative.

The reveal demonstrated that surprise can coexist beautifully with sophistication, allowing the celebration to evolve naturally without losing its sense of refinement.

A celebration of history and legacy

With a history that stretches from bishops to competitive carriage events, Orleton Farm offered far more than an extraordinary setting—it provided the foundation for a celebration built on legacy. Harley and Katherine embraced that history with remarkable restraint, allowing heirlooms, craftsmanship, architecture, and family traditions to speak for themselves. Their wedding became a testament to the beauty of honoring the past while creating something entirely new.

It was an editorial expression of timeless luxury—one defined not by extravagance, but by intention, rarity, and the enduring stories carried forward into the next generation.
