Picture this: a Tiffany designer and a jazz-playing heartthrob swiped right and turned a New York minute into forever. Jing Ju and Max said “I do” on September 21, 2025, at Celestine in DUMBO, Brooklyn. Nestled along the East River with sweeping views of both the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges, the waterfront venue served as the perfect backdrop for a wedding that beautifully bridged East and West, tradition and modernity, family and adventure.
Captured by Scott Bui Co. and with florals by Yan Floral Studio, their celebration was deeply personal, thoughtfully designed, and filled with meaningful nods to the cultures, experiences, and people who shaped their relationship.

Their New York love story
Before exchanging vows, Jing Ju and Max built their relationship through NYC foodie dates, neighborhood strolls, and art walks throughout the city. Then came what may have been the ultimate test: sharing dumplings with Jing Ju’s parents in China. The experience became one of many meaningful moments that connected their lives, families, and traditions long before their wedding day arrived.

A Brooklyn Wedding Filled with Joy
The day unfolded with the energy of a seven-hour brunch celebration, blending laughter, conversation, incredible food, and meaningful moments with loved ones.

Bridal fashion with modern elegance
Jing Ju embraced modern bridal fashion in an Atelier July crepe wedding gown, pairing the sleek silhouette with an ethereal organza scarf that flowed effortlessly throughout the day. The look felt timeless yet contemporary, perfectly complementing the sophisticated waterfront setting and the couple’s editorial wedding aesthetic.

Ceremony design with East River views
Set against the iconic skyline views of DUMBO, the ceremony reflected the couple’s ability to blend romance, humor, and heartfelt tradition. Friend Ophelia Chen officiated the ceremony, delivering a memorable line that perfectly captured their dynamic relationship: “More chili pepper than any doctor recommends!” With the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges framing the celebration, the ceremony felt unmistakably New York while remaining deeply personal to the couple’s story.

Wedding Flowers Inspired by Heritage
One of the most meaningful design elements came through the wedding flowers by Yan Floral Studio. Lotus pod florals were thoughtfully incorporated throughout the celebration, honoring Jing Ju’s heritage while adding sculptural texture and visual interest to the overall design. The floral choices reflected the couple’s desire to weave cultural symbolism into the day in a way that felt elevated, intentional, and modern.

Signature cocktails & reception details
The reception carried that same spirit of personality and playfulness. Guests enjoyed cat-inspired signature cocktails named after beloved companions. Coco’s cocktail featured a habanero mezcal kick, while Dandan’s rose-forward creation offered a softer counterpart. These thoughtful details infused the celebration with character while giving guests another glimpse into the couple’s life together.

A celebration of food, family, and culture
Food played a central role throughout the wedding day, reflecting the couple’s shared love of gathering around a table. Whole fish presentations and chili pepper sauces brought meaningful cultural references into the reception experience, creating a celebration that felt both deeply personal and joyfully communal. Every detail reinforced the connection between family traditions, heritage, and the couple’s modern love story.

Calling it an “early” night
By 9 PM, the couple had wrapped up everything from their ceremony to the final paperwork—proof that love can be adventurous, emotional, and surprisingly efficient all at once.

A modern fairytale on the Brooklyn waterfront
Jing Ju and Max’s wedding was equal parts swipe-right fairytale and cultural poetry. Set against one of Brooklyn’s most iconic waterfront backdrops, their celebration honored where they came from, how they met, and the life they are building together. It was a reminder that the most memorable weddings aren’t just beautiful—they tell a story. And theirs may be Brooklyn’s most romantic plot twist yet.
