They turned a Tuscan villa into the ultimate 4-day wedding weekend

Share

For Roni and Amit, a destination wedding wasn’t simply about choosing a beautiful place—it was about creating an unforgettable experience for the people they love most. Splitting their lives between Tel Aviv and New York, they wanted their wedding to feel like an escape from both. They found exactly that at Villa Petriolo, a historic estate nestled among the rolling hills of Chianti, just outside Florence.

Over four days, 80 guests traveled from Israel, the United States, and across Europe to celebrate a wedding weekend photographed by Tomer Lesher that felt less like a single event and more like an immersive Italian holiday. Every decision made with Wedaway Events was guided by one simple philosophy: give every guest the very best of Tuscany.

An Italian market welcome party to remember

The celebration began by transforming Villa Petriolo’s outdoor Bottega into a bustling Italian marketplace.

Guests wandered between live cooking stations serving wood-fired pizza and hand-rolled pasta, cooled off with fresh gelato, and gathered around rustic wine barrels that doubled as cocktail tables.

Detail we love: DJ in a vintage Fiat

Adding even more personality to the evening, a DJ performed from inside a beautifully restored vintage Fiat 500, creating one of the weekend’s most memorable focal points.

On trend: live portrait artist

Meanwhile, a live portrait artist quietly painted guests throughout the evening, offering an experience that felt both intimate and unexpected.

Cascading ceremony florals

The ceremony embraced the effortless beauty of the Tuscan countryside while celebrating Amit’s love of color.

A breathtaking floral arch by Fiori di Testa spilled with cascading seasonal blooms in soft pastels, creating an arrangement that felt organic rather than overly structured.

The abundance of flowers framed the couple beautifully while allowing the surrounding landscape to remain an essential part of the ceremony. The result was romantic, joyful, and unmistakably Italian.

Serpentine tables under the iconic cypress trees

One of the weekend’s most spectacular moments unfolded beneath Villa Petriolo’s iconic avenue of towering cypress trees.

A dramatic 26-meter serpentine table stretched through the landscape, inviting every guest to dine together as one. Wildflowers spilled across the tablescape alongside colorful taper candles, creating a setting that felt abundant yet relaxed—perfectly reflecting the beauty of Tuscany.

A Michelin-starred dinner menu

Dinner was equally unforgettable. A Michelin-starred menu by PS Ristorante celebrated regional Italian cuisine, while just after midnight, chefs delighted guests by preparing fresh cacio e pepe tableside inside a wheel of Parmesan, transforming a beloved Roman classic into an unforgettable late-night experience.

We love personalized details for every guest

Every detail reflected the couple’s extraordinary generosity toward their guests. Amit, a passionate wine enthusiast, personally selected and paired every bottle served throughout the weekend, ensuring each course was complemented by wines that celebrated the region they had chosen for their wedding.

As guests prepared to leave, they were given two keepsakes that perfectly captured the spirit of the celebration. The first was the portrait created of them during the welcome party, still bearing the artist’s final brushstrokes. The second was a thoughtfully wrapped copy of Brutto, an Italian cookbook accompanied by a handwritten letter from Roni and Amit.

Not a brief thank-you note, but a personal letter was written to each guest—an extraordinary gesture that reflected the care and gratitude woven throughout every moment of the weekend.

A wedding weekend of incredible hospitality

At its heart, Roni and Amit’s wedding wasn’t defined by spectacular design or exceptional dining—although it featured both in abundance. It was defined by hospitality.

Every meal, every thoughtful surprise, every carefully chosen bottle of wine, and every shared experience reflected their desire to make each guest feel genuinely celebrated. From the lively Italian market welcome party to the candlelit dinner beneath the cypress trees, the weekend unfolded as a love letter not only to Tuscany but also to the people who traveled from around the world to be part of it.

Perhaps Roni summed it up best: “Find a planner you completely trust and then let go. The wedding you dream of lives in the details you haven’t thought of yet.
