Set against the sweeping views of The Ocean Course at Kiawah Island, South Carolina and photographed by Sarah Nann Photography, Molly and Jimmy’s wedding celebrated the timeless elegance of Old Palm Beach with a distinctly Southern, preppy twist. Inspired by the vibrant aesthetic of 1950s and ’60s classic Palm Beach, the couple brought to life a joyful palette of preppy pinks and sage greens, and a nod to the bride’s lifelong love of Lilly Pulitzer. In a serendipitous touch, their wedding day even accidentally landed on National Wear Your Lilly Day!

Golf-centric venue: The Ocean Course
For Molly and Jimmy, choosing The Ocean Course held a special meaning to their relationship, as golfing together had always been their happy place, the setting for countless shared rounds of golf and quiet moments together amid dual demanding medical careers.

Timeless color pairing: pink & green
Bridesmaids in soft pink and green floral gowns from Lula Kate carried tulip bouquets.

Bridal details: buttons & bows
Molly radiated understated grace in a sculptural silk ball gown from designer Sareh Nouri and a bouquet of white peonies, paired with a stunning cathedral length veil to compliment the dress’s long train & button and bow-bedecked back.

Catholic Charleston wedding ceremony
The couple opted to hold their wedding ceremony at St. John the Baptist Cathedral in downtown Charleston, as the bride grew up as Catholic, and Jimmy had recently converted to Catholicism in preparation for their nuptials.

On trend: trolley transportation
From there, guests were transported to the Ocean Course via classic trolleys.

Custom golf-inspired signage
Upon arrival, guests were greeted by the jaw-dropping oceanfront views from the green. Signature cocktails could be picked up from a striking long hunter green paneled bar set outside, adorned with lush, overflowing blooms by Tupelo Honey, their preppy custom drink koozies marked ‘The Herd-Bonds’, and playful golf-inspired custom signage, such as a tongue-in-cheek “Amen Corner” sign, as a nod to the couple’s shared love for the sport.

Patterned linens & soft textures
Inside their sailcloth tented reception overlooking the Atlantic, BBJ La Tavola’s patterned linens layered in soft checks and plaids provided the perfect backdrop for Tupelo Honey Flower Shop’s garden-inspired florals in pink, chartreuse, and white.

Dramatic suspended installation
A dramatic suspended floral installation floated above the dance floor, filled with touches of pink hydrangeas, chartreuse amaranthus, tulips, pink and green sea mosses, and greenery hung delicately and delighted guests all long. The tent was accented in white billowing draping, and each place setting featured woven chargers, chinoiserie-patterned plates, and coordinating linen napkins.
