their love story

Elizabeth had just moved to Toronto from England when she matched with Peter on a dating app. Coincidentally, Peter was also English and had been living in Toronto for the past two years. “It was so nice to talk to someone who knew all the things I was missing,” Elizabeth shared. They arranged to meet for a 3 PM coffee date and immediately hit it off. That same evening, Peter invited Elizabeth to join him and his friends for pub trivia. “We ended up winning every round and the final,” Elizabeth shared of their victorious night, complete with celebratory shots and a discounted bar tab. “Needless to say, Peter and I were dancing on the bar by the end of the night.” When it came time to propose, Peter planned the moment for when his mother would be visiting, ensuring that both mothers could be part of the celebration. One evening, after dinner on the beach, he suggested a walk to get ice cream and proposed. The couple returned to dinner to show off the ring to both of their mothers, who, as it turned out, already knew.

the vision: coastal romance

Nestled in the cove of the Stamford Yacht Club, Elizabeth and Peter’s wedding was every bit as harmonious as its waterfront setting, unfolding in waves of ocean-inspired imagery, bursts of coral hues, and a natural, effortless energy. Led by Jennifer B Events, their guiding mantra centered on guest enjoyment, making choices that prioritized fun, light-hearted moments, and a seamless flow where no guest was left standing around. Not ones to enjoy being the center of attention, Elizabeth and Peter intentionally skipped elements that would place the spotlight on them and instead focused on hosting an unforgettable party. The ceremony, officiated by Elizabeth’s sister, took place beneath the trees on the lawn and framed by vibrant floral arrangements by Lindsay Fondo Studio. This was followed by a post-ceremony boat ride for the couple, complete with pristine summer views of the harbor. Shrimp and oysters on ice greeted guests during the dockside cocktail hour, leading into an open-air reception where sunset-toned florals echoed a peaceful energy.

the fashion

Elizabeth wore an elegant A-line gown by Kelly Faetanini with sculpted draping across the corseted bodice. In a stunning array of satin dresses, the bridesmaids sported the lavender from the delectable color palette. Peter and his groomsmen also brought the color in chic navy tuxedos with black satin lapels from The Black Tux.

cute cameos

Among their favorite personal touches were nods to their beloved cats—featured on the signature cocktail menu and represented on the dance floor with giant cutouts of their faces.

the party

With many guests traveling from Canada and the UK, the couple loved watching their friends and family delight in the “American cultural traditions” woven throughout the evening. One particularly special moment came when Elizabeth organized a group dance with her siblings, their spouses, and their children to ABBA’s “Dancing Queen.” The dance replaced the traditional father-daughter moment, honoring her late father in a way that felt joyful rather than somber. “It was just a silly and fun moment to look back on that my dad would’ve really gotten a kick out of,” Elizabeth shared.
