A simply elegant stone quarry wedding filled with memorable magnolias

Some proposals feel perfectly woven into the landscape around them. For Kyle and Katie, that moment came during a fall getaway to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. While out on a hike surrounded by beautiful autumn color and astonishing mountain views, Kyle dropped to one knee in a quiet, beautiful setting and asked her to marry him. This simple and heartfelt proposal set the tone for their thoughtfully planned wedding celebration. Their wedding day unfolded at the stunning Graystone Quarry with a seamless indoor-outdoor design that allowed guests to experience the day exactly as they wished. Some mingled and relaxed outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and natural scenery, while others gravitated inside where the band kept the energy high. The atmosphere – planned with the help of Gabriella Davis Soloman and captured by Sara Grace Photography – was bright, warm, and welcoming, like a fall bonfire. The entire event was joyfully filled with laughter, reunions with friends and family, and plenty of dancing as the evening went on!

Featured floral: crisp white magnolias

The floral design by Graystone Quarry echoed that same refined approach. Sticking to a palette of crisp whites and lush greens, the arrangements felt fresh and classic alongside the autumn air. Magnolias were thoughtfully incorporated throughout the design, a meaningful nod to the fall season and to the Magnolia tree that stood in the front yard of the bride’s childhood home, adding a deeply personal layer to the decor.

Completely custom wedding menu

Food played an important role in the guest experience, and the couple opted for a buffet-style dinner that offered a little something for everybody. Catering by Suzette customized the menu to include both meat and seafood options alongside flavorful vegetable sides. Special care was taken to clearly label gluten-free dishes, ensuring all guests could enjoy the meal comfortably and confidently.

Detail: citrus & chocolate cake options

The wedding cake was an elegant option. Sitting at four tiers high, the design had clean white finishes and a few delicate white florals. Guests enjoyed a variety of flavors, including chocolate with vanilla and lemon with raspberry, offering something bright and something indulgent for every palate.

Cowboy hats and guestbook polaroids

As the night unfolded, the dance floor truly became the heart of the celebration – especially once LED cowboy hats made their appearance in the bunch. Handed out as party favors, they quickly became a guest favorite, adding a playful and unexpected element that kept the energy high and the laughter flowing late into the evening.

After-the-fact advice

While the couple plans to take their honeymoon in the spring, they are savoring the memories of a day that focused on connection, intention, and joy. Their advice to other couples planning their own weddings is refreshingly honest: “Less truly is more”. By identifying your top priorities, whether that’s the band, the food, or the florals, couples can create a deeply meaningful celebration without unnecessary stress or expense. At its heart, Kyle and Katie’s wedding was a reflection of who they are: elegant, thoughtful, and full of love, with just the right touch of fun to make it unforgettable.
