Jenny and Brandon got married at Clos LaChance Winery in San Martin, CA. Jenny’s heritage is both French and Vietnamese, while Brandon’s is Vietnamese-American. As a result, it was important to them to honor their cultures in their wedding. The wedding venue was chosen for the French countryside aesthetic with vineyards and tapestries, and photographer Ashley Noelle Edwards, LLC made sure to incorporate French art-inspired photography on real film into how the day was captured. Planned with the help of Something Blue Productions, featuring florals by Petal and Olive, this wedding is the perfect inspo for those looking to capture that “je ne sais quoi” without hopping on a flight to France.

Timeless with a twist: French pink envelopes
Classic black and white invitations arrived for guests in French pink envelopes.

Important: Flash photography makeup
Jenny’s makeup artist gave her the perfect glowy bridal look. It is extremely important for those having their makeup done for special events to realize that flash photography will often show poor blending of makeup or demarcation when it comes to highlighting and contouring. Because makeup artist Marisa Perel is one of the top wedding makeup artists in California, Jenny’s hair and makeup looked perfect in every kind of light from day to night.

Featured designer: Georgia Young
Jenny wore a custom Georgia Young gown for the ceremony and opted for a unique scent by Byredo (whose bottles are also super photogenic!).

Floral theme: a rainbow of pastels
Bouquets by Petal and Olive featured a rainbow of pastels wrapped in colorful silk ribbons.

Intimate first look in b&w
The bride and groom opted for an intimate first look before the ceremony.

Flower girl inspo: floral applique
The flower girls wore light green tulle dresses with applique flowers, bows, and gold shoes.

Parasols: more than just a basic favor
During the ceremony, guests enjoyed white parasols not only to protect them from the sun, but also to look amazing in the wide shots of the wedding ceremony. The white stood out against their choice of colorful pastel florals.

French-inspired & refined reception design
Reception design focused on the al fresco vibes of the venue itself. Whimsical organic greenery was accented with cream, off-white, and pink-tinted florals such as dahlias that added a luxe element to the centerpieces. Natural wood chairs and a white tablescape backdrop let the French-inspired architecture of the venue shine.

Vinyl record guestbook
The reception was a fun dinner and dancing party for guests that included the option to sign a Leon Bridges record with the couple’s first dance song on it as a guestbook!

Vietnamese-inspired cake cutting
The couple both donned gorgeous white aó dài (traditional Vietnamese attire) for part of the reception, specifically the cake cutting. The cake by Marvel Cake was adorned with delicate sugar flowers in the same pastel color scheme as the live florals of the day.

On trend: flash photography
The final images of the night were shot on real black and white film with flash for a romantic couple’s session that only took them away from their party for 5 minutes max. Totally worth it!

Advice from the photographer
“As a photographer, I think it is important to look beautiful in your wedding photos, but also cute and sexy if you’re into that. We can easily capture the range of who you are as a couple. 99% of the images were shot on real film from day to night, and the newlyweds were delivered over a thousand images on real film at a professional level!”
