their love story

Elizabeth and Ben’s love story began in the summer of 2021 when they became pen pals after meeting for the first time. At the time, Ben was living in Austin, Texas, while Elizabeth was working at a summer camp about an hour away. During her busy days at Camp Longhorn, Elizabeth didn’t have much time to chat on the phone, so their handwritten letters became the foundation of their growing connection. Over a break that summer, they finally had their official first date, and they’ve been inseparable ever since. After two years together, Ben proposed to Elizabeth with her great-grandmother’s ring at the very place where their relationship began, Camp Longhorn.
the vision: elevated farm charm

Inspired by the Texas Hill Country, Elizabeth and Ben’s wedding day combined elegant farm charm with a touch of glamour, blending the outdoor horse-filled pastures with farm-to-table dining in an elevated outdoor reception. The relaxed views of the hillsides at Windermere Farms served as a gentle backdrop for their ceremony, officiated by their beloved Episcopalian reverend. The wedding procession walked down a stone pathway lined with abundant ferns and hydrangea arrangements by Floral Designs by Randi.

extreme diy

With the help of his family, Ben built the altar table—a labor of love that now resides in the couple’s home.
We love a wedding DIY, especially when the couple can use it for more than just one day!
the fashion

Elizabeth wore a drop-waist ballgown by Lela Rose paired with an extra-long lace-trimmed veil, making a striking bridal statement that perfectly suited the upscale farm theme. Ben wore a classic black tuxedo with a unique feather bow tie. For their private last dance and send-off, Elizabeth changed into a white midi dress reminiscent of her ballgown while guests enjoyed the final treats.

farm-to-table

The decor featured a subtle country club feel, with classic floral arrangements adorning the tables and a stunning outdoor bar. The couple noted that the farm-to-table catering was a highlight of the day, crafted by a local Austin cafe that presented a hyper-local, colorful meal.
the cake

The couple cut into a simple yet beautiful buttercream-frosted wedding cake with fresh flower decorations. When planning your own wedding, don’t forget to rent a cake stand—just look at what a difference it makes for the photos!
