their love story

Caitlin and Liam met in college at Saint Mike’s, and six years later, Liam proposed on the front steps of their first home together. He had secretly purchased a sentimental ring for Caitlin—one she had fallen in love with during a girls’ trip to Florence, Italy. A friend from the trip had reached out to Liam, recognizing Caitlin’s affection for the ring, and with Liam’s approval, she returned to the jewelry store to sneakily make the purchase. Caitlin was completely surprised by the proposal, and even more so by the ring! Caitlin later shared, “It was exactly how I hoped it would be.”

the vision: old hollywood glamour meets moulin rouge

Caitlin’s description of their wedding as “Old Hollywood Glamour meets Moulin Rouge” perfectly captured the golden glisten of her and Liam’s autumn celebration. Their hillside ceremony overlooked Vermont’s sweeping, color-drenched landscape, where the trees stood in full transformation, casting an amber glow over the day. Rich velvets, antique brooches, and gilded frames adorned the tables with vintage glam touches of pearls and stars and moody arrangements by Goose Feather Flowers. Their grandmothers, beaming as flower girls, walked down the aisle to the cheers of loved ones. The Wilburton in Manchester, Vermont, provided a timeless backdrop and unique indoor and outdoor spaces for a full weekend celebration, starting with a sunset rehearsal dinner on the terrace.

getting ready

In the cozy bridal suite, with its red toile wallpaper and rich wood floors, Caitlin got ready for the big day ahead. She lounged in a chic white pajama set with their wedding date embroidered on the cuff of her sleeve.

the fashion

Caitlin wore a timeless draped mermaid gown with off-the-shoulder draping, with her hair in gentle waves. The delicate pearl beading on the bodice added the perfect touch of glam to the ensemble. Liam also looked dapper in a classic black tuxedo.

some next-level DIY

As avid readers, the couple designed a bookshelf seating chart from a thrifted shelf, offering each guest a special book to take home. They reimagined “The Newlywed Cookbook” as their guest book, inviting guests to tuck their favorite recipes within its pages.

dessert

Instead of one large cake, the couple opted for a small cake just for them and then treated their guests to an entire table of Vermont’s famous pastries, like apple cider donuts!

the party

Wine in hand and twinkle lights aglow, the couple and their loved ones kept the party going well into the night. If you’re on the fence about asking your photographer to stay for the reception, let these photos be your sign that it’s totally worth capturing these moments!
