Melanie and Hang’s dogs met during their daily walks and quickly became best friends. This bond naturally brought Melanie and Hang together, leading to their own blossoming relationship and eventual love story. Their engagement took place on a cliffside in Melanie’s hometown of Half Moon Bay, California, with their beloved dogs in attendance, of course. After two joyful years of engagement, they began planning an intimate wedding with Lisa McAdams Events that perfectly reflected their shared vision and was captured by Alicia Parks Photography

Creating a natural and relaxed atmosphere

By hosting the celebration at Melanie’s parent’s home, the couple embraced a natural, relaxed atmosphere, incorporating earthy elements and honoring Hang’s Chinese heritage without the constraints of a traditional venue.

Picture-perfect garden setting

Melanie shared that her father devoted special care to making the yard picture-perfect for their big day, resulting in breathtaking photos captured throughout the gardens. Melanie’s Jenny Yoo dress beautifully complemented the garden setting, featuring a bold burn-out floral organza with an exquisite train.

Forty-five guests were seated amidst the garden’s hedge line, and a simple dirt path lined with white flower petals from Blooming Vase led to the altar.

Guests arrived at this waterfront wedding dressed entirely in white, with one meaningful exception: the couple's parents wore blue as their very sentimental “something blue.”
Inspired by autumn in the city, this celebration paired seasonal romance with fashion-forward details, custom watercolors, MetroCard escort cards, and a menu filled with New York favorites.
A curved aisle overflowing with blooms, a dramatic hanging floral installation, citrus-inspired colors, and an ombre flower-covered cake transformed this wedding into a romantic garden in full bloom.
