Derek and Alyssa met through mutual friends while attending a bonfire where Derek pursued Alyssa most of the night in hopes of getting a date. Five years later – after many dates! – Derek and Alyssa were on their annual trip to Lake Tahoe where Derek proposed at Baldwin Beach. She accepted with an overwhelming yes! From the beginning of wedding planning, Alyssa knew she wanted pink, ivory, and beautiful greenery with accents of gold to compliment the breathtaking Spanish Mediterranean aesthetic of Villa Montalvo. All things timeless and tulle
Bride Alyssa remembers clipping ball gown wedding dresses out of magazines as a little girl, so naturally she had a love for anything timeless and tulle. After trying on many dresses within the local area, she was not having much luck. Thankfully, she called one of her closest friends who recommended Novella Bridal in San Francisco. After showing Novella Bridal her inspo photos, they pulled a Pronovias ball gown style dress that Alyssa fell in love with – they popped the champagne and she said yes to the dress!
Soft pink and blush bridesmaids
The bridesmaids’ dresses from Show Me Your Mumu were a mix-matched variety of soft pinks and blush-colored full-length gowns. Each bridesmaids’ dress was in a different style, pattern, and color, but together they complimented each other beautifully and added a whimsical and fun aesthetic.

Clean and romantic reception design
The overall vision for the wedding day was clean and romantic, which reflected Alyssa and Derek’s desire to host a gathering that was beautiful and intimate. The addition of subtle hints of satin in the napkins and gold in both the flatware and chair selection elevated the tablescapes to a design that combined soft glam with the natural elements and beauty of the venue.
Soft and whimsical floral aesthetic
In keeping the tablescapes and overall vision clean and classy, this allowed the florals to shine without competing with busy accents. The florals provided a romantic and whimsical aesthetic, while the venue, linens, and tabletop items complemented the soft ivory and gold tones. The menus matched the original invitation suite by Marry Me Paper Boutique and were simply stated with elegant gold and ivory design.
Bespoke 3-tier wedding cake
The wedding cake was an elegant and bespoke design with 3 tiers. Accented with florals all around, it made for a beautiful statement in the dessert room full of delicious creations by La Vie Douce Design.
