Britt proposed to Sarah while they were enjoying Colorado’s stunning scenery, and in the blink of an eye, their wedding day was here. Sarah & Britt’s wedding put a modern twist on a classic, colorful style that Leah of Ribbon & Blooms Floristry helped bring to life with her own creative, colorful floral design. With the help of Heather from Heather Rachelle Events, Sarah tied everything together for the couple’s wedding at the Civic Center in downtown Oklahoma City, which truly became a dream come true event for the bride and groom! Champagne satin for a touch of shine
Sarah’s wedding gown came from one of Oklahoma’s bridal boutiques, House of Bridal, in Norman. She chose a simple, strapless satin gown with a large bow on the back that brought her modern vision to life in a trendy way. Special details for her look included a beautiful handheld fan brought back from Spain by Sarah’s sister, as well as a vintage pearl purse for added elegance. The champagne-colored bridesmaids dresses were the perfect neutral in a satin material that added definition and a touch of shine to the photos.
Colorful summer boutonnieres
Britt and his groomsmen wore simple black and white tuxes with colorful floral boutonnieres. Wanting to keep the neutral colors for the wedding party, the tuxes blended right in, leaving the people in them as the stars of the show.
Making the ceremony their own
The Baslers chose to do a full Catholic mass for their ceremony at Blessed Stanley Rother Shrine, readings tons of scripture, participating in communion, and being surrounded by the people they love and care for. They chose to exchange vows publicly in the church and sealed the deal with a sweet kiss following their nuptials. Medium floral arrangements were designed and placed at the alter for their mass, and Sarah’s bridal bouquet was arranged by Leah with love and an eye for creativity.
Creating a colorful vision
For their modern but colorful vision, bright pinks and pops of magenta, orange, yellow, sage, pastel blue, and lavender adorned the tablescapes and installs. Choosing these florals and decor was a huge part in the couple’s planning. Pastel blue linens lined the tables. Simple bud vases with clusters of colorful florals with larger floral installs, clear chargers, and white place cards filled the tables for a fuller look.
Marquee letter rentals
They chose to have a set of marquee letters that spelled out “Basler” on the dance floor as a whimsical background for so many of their photos.
Two tiers means two flavor opportunities
Essentially By Tiffany made an incredible, simple white textured 2-tier cake for the Baslers with two different flavors. She also made a detailed groom’s cake for Britt that played on his love for hunting and included a topper that read, “The hunt is over,” with a watercolor painting around the sides.
