Tess and Chase were childhood friends whose love story didn’t bloom until years later. After reconnecting after college at the Stagecoach music festival, they went on a proper date, and the rest was history! Their engagement, sparked by a heartfelt proposal on Whitefish Lake under a sky ablaze with fireworks, set the stage for an August wedding at the Montecito Club against the picturesque backdrop of Santa Barbara. Post-ceremony at the vibrant, Spanish-style Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Tess and Chase curated a timeless palette of whites, creams, and natural wood for their reception at the Montecito Country Club, allowing the venue’s beauty to shine alongside organic florals and Moroccan-inspired accents.
Black-tie bridal styling
Tess donned the epitome of perfect black-tie bridal style with a spaghetti strap lace dress by Monique Lhuillier complete with a delicate lace hem and v-back. Hair and makeup by Danielle Ryan Beauty was all captured on camera throughout the day by Brandon Kidd Photography.

Historic red trolleys: The perfect shuttle
Guests arrived via the historic, red Santa Barbara Trolley to the historic Mr. Carmel Church just minutes from where the reception would be held at the Montecito Club. After exchanging “I do’s,” the couple drove off in a little vintage convertible courtesy of Legends Car Rentals.
Moroccan elements for decor
Cocktail hour took place in the Montecito Club’s “great room” filled with eclectic Moroccan decor.
A statement-making greeting
Guests were greeted for the cocktail hour and reception by a stunning architectural seating chart complete with accompanying champagne wall and wooden bar.
Neutral colors and natural woods
The reception was held on the stunning outdoor lawn under market lights with the Santa Barbara skyline as a backdrop and expansive views of the ocean. The couple wanted a very classic, timeless vibe, and went with neutral whites, creams, beiges, and natural wood to accomplish this. Loose, organic florals by Noonan’s Designs with lots of greenery, white linens, natural wood chairs and bars, and string lights contributed to the couple’s overall vision for their special day.

The planning process felt like a breeze thanks to planner, Amy Kutchta, and her team at Intertwined Events. She thought of details the couple never would have and communicated seamlessly with all of the vendors. She understood Tess and Chase’s vision from the very beginning, and because she had the most positive, relaxed attitude, the bride and groom never felt stressed. In fact, Tess and Chase raved that Amy and her team felt more like friends than their planners.
