How to Plan a Romantic Surprise Engagement Picnic

Share

Romantic couple embracing outdoors in a beautiful garden setting

Planning the perfect proposal is all about creating that unexpected moment to pop the question. Timing, location, and presentation are key, and Stephen knew exactly how it needed to go down to create the perfect surprise for his love.

This styled couples shoot turned proposal had a relaxing vibe throughout, and ends with a romantic picnic for two to celebrate! Read more about the execution of this day, and see the entire shoot in the full gallery for a closer look from Emily Fuselier Photography.

Planning the perfect proposal

From Emily Fuselier Photography: It started with an idea… The idea he found the one he belongs too. Its hard sometimes to filter real love from what most people think of as love. Real love is a total submission of one’s self to another. That’s what Stephen did. Stephen was filled with excitement and nerves when we first met. It was so sweet how he talked about Emily and his idea for his proposal. He decided he wanted to make his proposal to her something that she would never expect.

So we became involved in planning and executing his idea. He wanted it to seem like they were doing a shoot about them as a couple. A stylized couple shoot mixed with their real day to day. So, we started the day with them waking up and going about their usual routine. As soon as she went outside and heard her favorite song, I believe she knew. Her expression was so genuine and surprised.
