And Just Like That … These Two Grooms Threw a Tropical Disco to Die For Wedding

Share

These two grooms rocked their San Diego wedding with a tropical disco theme

Tyler and Alex met out one night at a bar in the Hamptons during Memorial Day Weekend – they had separated from their respective friend groups and unassumingly sat next to another other at the bar. They spent the rest of the summer together, travelling to Europe and moving in after Tyler tore his ACL playing flag football. They lived together in Hell’s Kitchen in NYC for several years until the proposal happened on a trip to the picturesque town of Menton near the Italian border in the South of France. For their wedding at La Valencia Hotel, Tyler and Alex, decided to use tropical disco and old Hollywood deco inspired elements. It was a non-traditional Jewish wedding with a ketubah signing, breaking the glass under the chuppah, dancing and getting raised on chairs to the hora.  Keep scrolling to see all of the beautiful photos by Dekker PhotographyStj Event helped plan every detail, and  Amari Productions filmed this special day. Read on to learn more about everything that went into their wedding day, and you can see a rundown of the entire celebration in the full gallery here.

With Alex from New York and Tyler from San Diego, they decided to have their wedding in the California sunshine. It was an absolutely perfect blue sky day in beautiful San Diego at the iconic La Valencia Hotel .

Alex and Tyler wanted a very colorful, lush look for their florals, and they nailed the look. Tropical florals were featured down the aisle in the ceremony, hanging with monstera leaves from the chuppah, in the centerpieces at the reception, and draped around a custom “T&A” neon sign against a hedge wall.  The space was decorated with tropical florals, hanging and floating votive candles, disco balls, and colorful lighting that changed throughout the night. They had a disco-inspired band and custom cocktails called the “Disco Inferno” and “Simply the Best!”

The guys looked incredibly handsome in their custom tuxes – one groom wore a black tux and bow tie, while the other wore black tux pants and a white dinner jacket with black bow tie. They had silver glitter socks, velvet black slippers, Swarovski white and black crystal studs and cufflinks, and tropical boutonnieres. The wedding was an exceptional blend of glamour and fun that represented the grooms perfectly!
