Naturally Chic Outdoor Wedding in Oregon

Share

Happy bride and groom pose outdoors on their wedding day

Allie and Jim picked the beautiful Mt. Hood Bed & Breakfast for their dreamy outdoor wedding in Oregon. The moody color palette of marsala, blush, and gold looked flawless against the natural decor throughout. Fig place cards, a cigar bar and organic blooms spilling onto the tables set a romantic scene beneath a canopy of lights.

The brides romantic bohemian chic Lazaro gown was totally on point, and we love the BHLDN mismatched bridesmaid dresses! Read on about their magical wedding below captured by Yasmin Khajavi Photography and be sure to visit the full gallery after.

A beautiful venue with a view

From Bridal Bliss: Allie and Jim picked Mt. Hood Bed & Breakfast for their wedding venue. If you have not been out to this venue before, it is one of the most beautiful venues. There is a gorgeous view of Mt. Hood and the grounds are immaculate. We knew once we picked this venue that planning the wedding would be fun as the backdrop for a wedding is simply stunning.

Planning the details

We dove in headfirst and began working on the details of the big day. Allie loved the look and sound of creating an intimate setting for the tables. We used the venues wood tables and adorned them with organic flowers from Selva. Sarah did a beautiful job incorporating non-traditional flowers and pops of colors to keep with the natural feel of the space. The flowers spilled on to the tables which were also filled up with White Pepper’s amazing family style dinner service.

Let there be food, dessert, and dancing

After guests dined on a local, fresh and seasonal menu, they were treated to pies from Pie Spot and cake from Dream Cakes. Guests ended up dancing the night away as the sun set behind Mt. Hood and the stars came out. It was truly a perfect day and we were so lucky to be apart of it!

Plan a welcome wedding party

If you can, (and are open to the extra planning involved), have a welcome party instead of a rehearsal dinner. We wanted our wedding to be a weekend escape, and since we are both originally from the East Coast – it was a destination wedding for about 90% of our guests. It was a great opportunity for all of our family and friends to mingle and meet ahead of time, spend some quality time with our bridal party, and really just celebrate all of us being together before the big day. My mother-in-law planned an amazing party at this little urban winery called Springhouse Cellars in downtown Hood River. OR. Their event site and crush pad is surrounded by these stone ruins of an old distillery that burned down – everyone enjoyed wood-fired pizza, wine, and live music under the twinkle lights. It was low-key but magical.

Through the smoke

The week before our wedding, we heard the devastating news that our beloved Columbia River Gorge was being consumed by wildfire. We couldn’t believe that our favorite place was slowly being ravaged and destroyed, or that our wedding might not even happen because of evacuations and smoke. The air quality conditions were pretty bad down in the valley where our hotel was, and the main highway was closed – so everyone had to take an alternate route to get there. The day of the wedding arrived – and as we drove up the winding road towards the mountain, my breath caught in my chest because it was clear, and a beautiful blue-bird day up at the foot of Mt. Hood.
