Romantic Arizona Castle Wedding: Rustic Charm & Fairytale Details

Share

Strapless lace wedding gown on rustic wooden doors

This stunner of a wedding took place at a castle and it has us swooning. The day was both rustic and shabby chic, timeless, and the perfect complement to the beautiful garden grounds of the venue. A palette of gold, champagne and ivory combined with burlap and lace were the finishing touches for a fairytale feel. Once you’re done dreaming about this romantic Arizona castle wedding, you can start right back up again when you view the full gallery here, photographed by Rachel Solomon Photography.

the castle at ashley manor

The Castle at Ashley was the first venue we looked at, and we both instantly fell in love. We would be married on our six year anniversary! I could already picture it, the garden so beautifully and perfectly in bloom, the gentle sound of water from the fountain, and walking out of the glass-paned french doors, across the stone patio and meeting in the fairytale-like dark iron gazebo. This would be one of the most memorable walks we would take. The ceremony aisle was lined on both sides with white rose petals. A simple white hydrangea, accented with curly willow, and tied with a burlap and lace ribbon, decorated the ends of every other row of guest seating.

Other details from our wedding included DIY projects that were worked on for many hours in the months leading up to our wedding. An old white distressed wood door, to which we added a glass door knob, was the canvas for our guest list, the table numbers and guest names written on the door with a metallic gold calligraphy pen – this amazing door was found after many trips to Merchant Square, a local antique marketplace.

The linens and flowers were all done through the venue. The tables displayed combinations of champagne and taupe shimmer tablecloths and chair ties. On each table was a statement centerpiece of tall clear vases holding an assortment of white and ivory hydrangea, white larkspur, white lisianthus and champagne roses, with curly willow sticks drawing the eye upwards towards the chandelier adorned ceiling. These were surrounded by gold mercury glass votives of different sizes and patterns and rustic white-washed, distressed wood block table number signs, scrolled with gold metallic writing, courtesy of Etsy.

Coke bottle favors

Our cake sat in the middle of an antique window frame to which we added a burlap bow – this find was from a little antique shop in downtown Gilbert, AZ. Our favors were glass Coke bottles to which kraft paper tags and paper straws – both purchased from Etsy- were attached with twine. There was a Happily Ever After Begins Here sign that greeted guests when they arrived at the venue. This sign was made from a pallet that was taken apart and the planks cut down to size and each letter stenciled and hand painted onto the sign, with burlap flower accents were added to make it complete.
