Color Is the New Black With Suits and Tuxedos and Stitch & Tie Is Where You’ll Get It

It’s been a second since we talked about groomswear, so as much as we LOVE bridal fashion and beautiful brides, in general, today it’s all about looks for grooms (P.s. The click-and-mortar brand we’re digging into has suit and tux fashions for women, too, so they’re as inclusive as they come — just wanted to highlight that before jumping in). For sooo long, we’ve been loyal to the transformative effect of a black tuxedo or suit on a groom for their wedding day, but tuxedos and suits in non-black colors are similarly fetching and we cannot believe we haven’t given them their time in the sun until 2022… It stops today, and it stops with a company that has never subscribed to any kind of restrictive black-and-white only dress codes. If you or your groom have ever considered wearing color on the big day, then you have to get to know Stitch & Tie, the one-stop shop for all things formalwear for both men and women. One look at their Insta feed, and you’ll get what we mean when we say that color is their jam.

We’ve had a bridal palette, now Stitch & Tie is introducing us to the groom’s palette

Truthfully, we’ve seen nuances in bridal for the last 10+ years. It was ivory, at first, and then came blush and sherbet pink. Then there was champagne, dove gray, and blue ahead of black, and nowadays, anything (from bold brights to rich, moody metallics) is fair game. It’s a great thing. But as for a groom’s turn with color? It hasn’t exactly taken off with mainstream momentum. Sure, we’ve just seen influencer-league grooms and celebrities step out in color, texture, and the unexpected for award shows, red carpets, and yes, big events like weddings, but we just kind of credit the creativity to their stylists and accomplished fashion counsels.

It’s wrong, because when we do so (dismiss fashion genius for a flash in the pan or praise ‘the handlers’ instead of the groundbreaking gentlemen themselves), we make experimenting and becoming more well-dressed special occasion goers a less likely reality. This is why we say ‘YES’ to rose pink, cobalt blue, emerald green, powder blue (and in no way is this iteration on par with Jeff Daniels in Dumb & Dumber), rust, terracotta, and so much more.

These grooms blended in with their surroundings.

And it was the best thing ever. Dusty rose-dressed stunners in the desert, an emerald velvet-clad charmer at a garden party (and, of course, we already caught all the Puck from A Midsummer Night’s Dream vibes he was throwing), and a lot more looks.

Stitch & Tie is down to be part of your color story

Because, let’s be honest, mix and match styling is a great way to champion a unique look that is yours and yours alone for your wedding day. The brand features a range of colorful suits and tuxedos in hues of rose pink, green, light blue, cobalt blue, and titillating neutrals, too (think tan, grays, white, caramel, and café brown). And you can connect with a Stitch & Tie stylist for a concierge-style one-on-one virtual style session where they’ll talk to you about your style must-haves, get a deeper understanding of your wedding aesthetics and fashion vibes, and tailor a curated selection of full-weekend-long looks (for all your wedding parties, pre and post) so you don’t have to go it alone. There’s even an option to schedule an at-home try-on, if you’re never one to shy away from a test-drive.
