With our beloved Britney finally being set free from the reigns of an overbearing conservatorship, what better time to celebrate the 2000’s Princess of Pop? This team pulled inspiration from Brit and JT’s iconic denim-on-denim look from the 2001 AMA’s. It’s been a while (20 years…let’s try not to think about that fact), so let us refresh your memory. Britney rocked a floor-length denim patchwork gown, a crystal choker, and obligatory non-functional chain hip belt (one of that year’s must-have accessories). Justin wore an all-denim suit, frameless ombre aviators, and a matching denim cowboy hat. It was a lewk, to say the least.
Moody Blue Events wanted to design a fun-filled wedding inspiration shoot that paid homage to a very special time in music and fashion…the early 2000’s. The asymmetrical floral arch by Hazel Avenue Floral added a touch of now to this throwback design. Sugarhill Studios is such a cool space and is perfect for an edgy elopement like this one. Samantha Ruscher got plenty of great shots of the couple playing around and enjoying each other’s company just like JT and Britney did on the red carpet. A YEAR TO REMEMBER
The year is 2001, “Lady Marmalade” is playing everywhere on the newly-released iPods, the first Harry Potter movie has just been released in theaters, Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman are officially split, and Björk is wearing a swan dress to the Oscars. And most iconic of all? Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears wore denim-on-denim-on-denim-on-denim to the American Music Awards, and history was made. 20 years later, the team behind this styled shoot brought all of their teenage dreams to life by getting inspired by that fashion moment and creating a “something blue” wedding styled shoot all sparked from that famous look! Our favorite part (besides the neon sign, asymmetrical floral installation, the bride’s hair, and the blue velvet boots of course)? After the shoot, the denim jackets that were worn were raffled off to a lucky winner and all of the proceeds went to Planned Parenthood! This shoot created an impact well beyond wedding inspiration and we can’t get enough.
