Bourbon & blooms
From Christina Anne Photography: For this shoot, we wanted to do a bohemian take on a bridal shower. Our theme was centered around Bourbon and Blooms – we wanted to showcase a shower that was a mix of classic feminine bridal elements and a more cool-girl alternative vibe.
DIY flower crowns
A fun activity to pair with cocktails is a flower arranging workshop. You can have a florist show you how to create everything from flower crowns to combs to armbands. And what better place to chill with your girlfriends than in a comfy lounge of vintage rugs and giant pillows. Warehouse XI in Somerville provided a modern and flexible venue where we could easily bring our bohemian theme to life.
Bring on the bourbon
Bourbon is increasing in popularity and isn’t just for groomsmen anymore. We built a lavish Bourbon bar (as a contrast to the typical mimosa/champagne bar) that was decadent yet approachable for a bridal shower. With a simple cocktail ratio for bourbon sours, plus endless juice and garnishes, the bourbon bar is a creative and easy to execute idea!
tying it all together
Our furniture rentals by Boston Rustic Rentals added a touch of rustic that played well with the Bourbon theme, thanks to features like the whiskey barrel table we used for our bar. And it, of course, wouldn’t be a party in Somerville without delicious Union Square Donuts.
