From Lauren of Southern Savvy Events: When I think about my Grandmother and the time we spent together, the Golden Girls always comes to mind. As a young girl I would spend the night at her house and every time I remember laying in bed watching Golden Girls and snacking on Tums (so funny to think about, was this healthy? probably far from it!)…I suppose you could say it was my thing to share with her.
Golden Girls inspiration
Since this shoot is so near and dear to my heart it was important that the creative team be the perfect fit. I was very specific when selecting our team to ensure they were all familiar with the Golden Girls, could take my inspiration board and understand exactly which parts of the show I wanted to highlight.
Southern and Sicilian details
The Duke Mansion was a natural fit to showcase a lanai type backdrop and pulling in Banana Leaves and Palm Fronds gave a nice nod to Miami, the show’s setting. Sophia and Blanche’s respective Sicilian and Southern backgrounds both play a major role in defining their characters so we have included details of both into our menu and specialty drink details.
