Kat & Brian’s sweet and playful engagement {Kansas City/Weston, Mo.}

Share

I have always encouraged couples to schedule an engagement session with their wedding photographer. There aren’t many more chances in life to get great pics of just you and the love of your life in non-wedding attire….before you have kids!!! Not only that, it allows the photographer a chance to get to know you both, and how you work in front of the camera. And it gives you the opportunity to build a trust in your photographer, so when the wedding day comes, you are confident in letting the photographer do his or her own thing, knowing you’ll be getting amazing photos of the best day of your life.
When trying to pick a location for their engagement session, I had asked Katherine and Brian what mood they were going for. They told me: playful, romantic and rural. This helped me find a location that allowed them to be themselves, which only further inspired me. We chose the Weston Red Barn Farm (great for weddings, too!!!) just north of Kansas City. Here are a few of the images. After you take a peek, think about it…what words would you use to describe the engagement session of YOUR dreams?
