Share

Bride holding protea and blue cornflower wedding bouquet

From an age old tradition comes the custom of a bride wearing something blue for her wedding day. This gorgeous shoot is all about embodying that tradition and is full of cute blue ideas including a mini pony named blue!
Keep scrolling to see how you can incorporate your own unique “something blue” into your happy day. Also before you go take a deeper peek into this something blue wedding in the full gallery here, captured by Eliza J. Photography, but we’re warning you, there are some seriously adorable people and animals inside!

Words from The Vendors

With this shoot, we wanted to incorporate the idea of “something borrowed, something blue.” We loved the idea of a modern twist on a vintage setting. The blue willow dining plates and tea sets were collected from local antique markets and we paired it with the modern and glamorous sequin tablecloth. The mismatched bridesmaids in floral pattern dresses helped to set the stage in this elegant setting and we love that the miniature pony’s name was actually “blue!” How fitting!

We all know the saying “Something old, something new, something borrowed something blue”, but do you know what it’s all about? Something old represents the bride’s past while something new signifies the bride’s future with her new hubby. Something borrowed typically comes from a close relative or friend who is happily married in hopes that their good fortune will rub off on the newlyweds. Last but definitely not least, something blue represents fidelity and love!
