From the Bride

We immediately knew that we wanted to get married at my family cabin where we first decided to make things official. The neighborhood country club overlooks a golf course, pond, and is lined with pine trees.

The ceremony was held outside the country club overlooking the 18th hole of the golf course. The guests were able to look out and see the pine trees, lake, and greenery of the golf course. Drew and I were married in front of our closest friends and family (about 100 guests) and even with that many people it still felt small and intimate.

Gift / Card table Idea

Be sure to set up a specific place for guests to put their gifts and cards. Check out how Lauren and Drew set up their card and gift table below. With lace and a burlap runner, they easily dress up a card table. Vintage window shutters were used to display photos of their relationship with clothes pins. Cardboard letters hung from a piece of burlap for all their wedding cards.  Easy and budget friendly idea. Do you love?

The reception was held on the covered deck of the country club which shared the same lovely view as the ceremony. The reception was designed to be beautiful but make everyone relaxed and ready to have fun. The guests sat at family style long tables which felt less formal and encouraged everyone to talk and get to know each other.

Wedding Advice

I would have taken dance lessons. Prom style dancing for 3 minutes, with everyone staring, can feel like forever!! Although I loved my dress, we got married on one of the hottest days of the year and dancing in my wedding gown was extremely uncomfortable. Even if I had decided not to wear my back up dress, I wish I would have had the option.

Love Story:
Drew and I met in March 2011. I was a student doing my clinical rotation to get my Master's degree in Occupational Therapy. Drew was also a student, and working as a physical therapy tech at the hand therapy clinic where I was doing my rotation. Thus, I was essentially his boss. We quickly became friends and eventually decided to meet up outside of work with friends. And from there we just continued to spend more time together as my rotation was coming to an end.
Fourth of July approached and Drew and I decided to go up to my cabin with my family. It was that weekend that we decided to make it official! From there everything was easy. We loved doing everything together from going to ASU football games to sitting on the couch watching Netflix marathons. We moved in together and then decided to get a house of our own. While our house was being built we moved in with my dad for a few months. The first week we were at my Dad's Drew told me we were going to take his Dad to see the progres s on the house and go to brunch. It was the first time he would see the house, so I thought nothing of it. We pulled up to the house and the construction workers were working on the house next door. I am a very big rule follower, and we were told we couldn't go in while the workers were present without a hard hat. So I insisted on staying in the car. Drew came out in a frenzy that I needed to see something. So I followed reluctantly. When I got inside Drew was on one knee and Will you Marry me was written on the foundation where one day our bed would be! It was absolutely perfect.
