We’ll be real honest, we have a serioussss thing for Israeli bridal designers - like seriously serious. BERTA Bridal, Galia Lahav, Inbal Dror, all so good, especially when it comes to sex appeal, sophistication, and sparkle on sparkle on sparkle. But one name that you probably haven’t heard enough of, thus far, is Solo Merav. Established in 1994, the Solo Merav design house has been making brides smiles for years, and it’s unbelievably clear why: these gowns are gorgeous!
Merav is the designer and innovator behind this magical bridal atelier. She is a graduate of fashion design schools in Milan and Rome 🙌🙌🙌 and she’s a very important force in the I Do landscape RN - like she’s quietly conquering every fashion capital of the world, as we speak. Each year, she works with a team of highly-experienced seamstresses and embroiderers to confection a new collection - and everything that comes out of it is constructed with the highest quality of fabrics, lace embroideries, and meticulous trims. Moreover, the designs combine a body conditioning lining and the most advanced sewing technology to ensure the best and most perfect fit. That’s what every bride wants, right? An impeccable fit for her wedding day!
Soft lines that emphasize the curves of the female body while retaining a sexy mystery that offers an original and innovative bridal gown. She also believes in an uncompromising, meticulous quality of sewing. Responsible for that signature fit of hers!
Her brides, of course. During fittings, she makes sure to open herself to all of her brides’ wishes, and she uses the opportunities to invent creative solutions for each bride. Without fail, she sees the balance between femininity and sexiness as the foundation that harmonizes her designs. And she lets her imagination run wild; she often finds herself sketching in the middle of the night as soon as an idea strikes.
The new 2019 collection, Para Todas, is infinitely inspired by the “Art Deco” period and especially from the illustrations on the cover of the Brazilian “Para Todos” magazine, designed by J. Carlos. He imagined and shaped his women figures as happy, liberal, dynamic and unique, while emphasizing their curved feminine shape, as each bride would like to feel. In this spirit, the Para Todas pieces all feature a synergy of femininity and soft design, outlining exactly what J. Carlos was trying to represent. The gowns highlight a celebration of fine, sparkly fabrics with soft dynamic lace in a variety of combinations and textures, as well as clean asymmetric cuts using floral and geometric elements. It’s Para Todas, for each and every one of you!
Can you even??!? How pretty are these dresses? There’s such a cohesive, vintage character to the collection, overall, but each of the dresses just radiates originality and panache. I’m pretty partial to Daniella, but I might be just a smidge biased…
If you’ve just started your dress hunt, we’re going to insisttttt you check out the upcoming Para Todas trunk shows in Chi-Town and NYC.
