Winter Wedding Inspiration

Are you planning a winter wedding? It can be challenging when you consider the number of concerns that you cannot control.

Winter Wedding Inspiration

Travel concerns, mail delays related to the holidays and asking family and friends to take time away from work. But there is something magical about a winter wedding during the Christmas holiday.  Here is winter wedding inspiration.

First things first: Book your venue. I remind brides on a daily basis that venues you love are also loved by other couples. If your date is available I strongly encourage you to pay the deposit as soon as possible. Holiday weddings can be elegant and beautiful but avoid the 'Santa Claus-Is-Coming-To-Town' theme unless 'Babes in Toyland' was your favorite movie as a child. This winter wedding venue is Harwelden Manson in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Weddings have been held here since the 1960's. The elegant English Collegiate architecture immediately grabs your attention. As you pull the massive doors open and step into the foyer you are prepared to be enveloped in the tasteful elegance of a lost era. For winter ceremonies and receptions consider a small, intimate celebration. An intimate wedding is considered less than 75 guests.

Decor can reflect the time of year without going overboard. Here deep red roses in simple glass containers made elegant table centerpieces surrounded by crystal votives.

The flickering candles added to the festive ambiance of the evening. The table decor was raised to another elegant level with addition of lace overlays. Guests were seated to vintage china and traditional stemware and linens. Each place setting held the favor, a snowflake cookie.

The bride chose a simple gown with beaded detail and a brooch bouquet custom made of family heirlooms. The couples initials were incorporated into the bouquet along with jewelry from aunts, grandmothers and even great great grandmothers who were no longer living.
