Whimsical And Fun Backyard Wedding

Meg Ruth Photo

This enchanting wedding was a combination of cultures united by love. Between the tea ceremony opening and the memorial lantern release ending, you will see the unique little details that brought this wedding to life. Before Katherine and Asa tied the knot they decided to get a pair of hummingbird tattoos as a representation of their devotion to each other. The story of the hummingbird was their inspiration. As an added bonus, they were done as the bride's "something blue." How sweet is that?

Being Vietnamese, Katherine stayed true to her roots and had a gorgeous gown custom made in Vietnam for the couple's traditional Tea Ceremony. We love when couples include personal touches and important cultural ceremonies into their wedding day! Her breathtaking dress for her ceremony was designed by Demetrios. Two perfect dresses for one perfect day.

For Katherine and Asa coming to Las Vegas was a way to make sure the weather was perfect for a backyard wedding shared with their closest friends and family from Chicago. They had been together for nearly 6 years and the people surrounding them on their wedding day could not have been happier or more supportive.

Katherine and her sister, Donna spent countless hours working on every detail to make the wedding festivities intimate, personal, and absolutely fun. All of the beautiful floral creations were designed by Layers of Lovely. One special touch that we loved about this wedding was that each table number had a phrase incorporated around the number it displayed.

At the end of the night the groom made a special tribute to his mother, who passed on just two years before. Writing messages on a white lantern in white pen kept these words private and sacred, releasing them to the heavens at the end of the night. The entire group watched in silence as it ascended. It was a truly beautiful moment.
