From the Bride:As soon as my husband proposed, well actually long before he proposed, I had envisioned the perfect wedding day. Our wedding took place at a beautiful vineyard in Grass Valley California. The vineyard belongs to a family friend the Smiths.

We were also so blessed to work with our amazing photographer Kayla Adams of Kayla Adams & Co. for our engagement and our wedding pictures. She captured our wedding so perfectly. From the Venue to the list of amazing vendors I could not have asked for a more amazing wedding day.

Our wedding coordinator Donna Hoakstra from Joy of Life Events was an instrumental part in making our wedding come alive. She not only helped our vision become reality she put her heart and soul into making it the perfect day. From start to finish Donna took all of the stress from our family and guided us gracefully through the wedding planning process. Donna not only staged and set up the entire event but she also supplied a good portion of our decorations and furniture pieces.

The wedding was an “all hands on deck” event. We had so much help from friends and family putting together centerpieces to creating handmade bridal bouquets and invitations. Through the entire planning process my mom was my biggest supporter. We spent countless hours at local craft stores to create the perfect details to make our wedding unique and special.

The inspiration for our wedding theme came from my now sister-in-law who does vintage markets through her company Junk in the Trunk. I was inspired by her vintage style and all the awesome DIY’s she does. The theme we went for was vintage/shabby chic with fun DIY flair.

Don't forget to make a list of the photos you would like taken, for example what family members and what poses with your bridesmaids and groomsmen. I had so many cute ideas but on the day of, everything is so hectic that I totally forgot about them all. Send the list to your photographer ahead of time so they can plan for the pictures accordingly and then your are sure to get your shots. Other than that I would say everything else went just the way we wanted it.

From the Bride:If I could change anything, I would have seen my groom before the wedding. I was so set on waiting for that moment when I walked down to aisle toward him that I was unwilling to budge on this detail. Although it was still very special there are a few reasons I would have changed my mind doing it over again. First if we would have seen each other before it would have given us ample time to take pictures together intimately and uninterrupted. Not only do you look your best before the wedding festivities begin, you don't have hundreds of people missing your presence at your reception. Even more than that as amazing as the moment is when you walk toward your groom, there is also a ton of nerves and pressure and everyone is all there watching. It would have been really special to have a moment alone and just see his reaction one on one to how I looked and had that moment together. My husband pushed for this many times but stubborn me I wouldn't budge.
