The elegant, black-tie wedding of Adlon and Peter at two of San Francisco’s iconic venues exuded timeless sophistication. The landmark Fairmont San Francisco was the main venue for the couple’s wedding weekend which featured some of the hotel’s most iconic venues, from a welcome party and post-wedding brunch in the Penthouse, to the wedding reception in the Gold Room. Planned with the help of Big Day (of) Events Co. and captured by Britt Rene Photo, this wedding is the perfect inspiration for any bride looking to host a quintessentially city wedding.

The ceremony took place at the famous Grace Cathedral, nestled on top of San Francisco’s Nob Hill. It was held in the Nave, which is known for its striking murals and stained-glass windows.

Gold Room reception
After their ceremony at the Grace Cathedral, guests entered their reception space at the Fairmont SF. Their design inspiration came from the Fairmont’s classic Gold Room and featured lush white and green florals, gold accents, and subtle touches of black to echo the formal affair.
Specialty cocktail inspo
During the reception, guests sipped on specialty cocktails, including the bride’s take on a mint julep, made with mint leaves, simple syrup, and vodka, garnished with a mint sprig, and a boulevardier, made with bourbon, sweet vermouth, and campari, garnished with a mint sprig.
San Francisco-inspired details
Adlon and Peter envisioned a classic and timeless black tie San Francisco wedding, which inspired their tablescape. A luxurious black velvet napkin rested on the timeless San Francisco Fairmont charger. Classically designed stationery from Sesame Letterpress featured San Francisco landmarks, such as the Golden Gate Bridge.
Favors: customized famous fortune cookies
One of the most unique details included in the place setting was offered via a small gift box set on each plate. These contained a customized fortune cookie from the renowned Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Company-each cookie contained a customized “fortune”-a special fact about Adlon and Peter’s relationship.
Floating floral wedding cake
The newlyweds cut into a minimalistic white wedding cake by Inticing Creations that appeared to be floating atop a lush bed of white roses.
Champagne tower party
A champagne tower kicked off the celebration, followed by a night of dancing with a live nine-piece band and a DJ to close the evening, all set against the backdrop of the couple’s unforgettable weekend in San Francisco.
