This Is What A Backyard Coronavirus Wedding Looks Like

Dan and Diksha's had a big multi-cultural  Detroit wedding planned. Diksha's family was going to fly from New Delhi, India, for the big celebration. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, they had to cancel their original plans and make a shift.

Instead of having their September wedding at the Detroit City Distillery, they planned a backyard wedding at Dan's Mother's house in July in less than a month. Keep reading to hear more from Diksha, and see more of their COVID-19 friendly, backyard wedding. The couple also shared their full budget breakdown.

Tina Rae photographed the day. You can see more of Dan and Diksha's wedding in the full gallery here

The Wedding Dresses

From The Bride: I got my dresses custom designed from India and picked them up when Dan and I went to India late last year.

I decided to wear my Pallas Couture dress for the ceremony and Rime Arodaky short dress for meet and greet. I lucked out since I bought both these dresses ahead of time. Please scroll down to see the Rim Arodaky dress. It is so cute.

The Proposal

I vividly remember when Dan proposed to me. I have never had these many butterflies in my stomach at once. Leading up to our engagement, Dan kept asking me to try this cute little Italian restaurant that we have never been to and I had no idea that he was planning a proposal. But the plans kept getting delayed and finally we decided to go to this Italian restaurant. That same morning, we were still in bed and Dan asked me to marry him. I said yes with tears rolling down my face.

Love Conquers All

From The Bride: The pandemic was not enough this year, we got hit by a thunderstorm the day before our wedding. The entire neighborhood was out of power, there were trees fallen in the driveway. But nothing was going us from saying “I do!”. The wedding day was flawless, beautiful and magical. Our family handled adversity with grace and turned what could have been a disaster into a day full of amazing real moments. Unfortunately, my parents could not be there, my mother-in-law walked me down the aisle. We are so blessed to share the most important day of our lives with our loved ones.
