Getting Ready

Audrey and Jackson’s spring wedding took place on April 28th, 2017. It was a small wedding with only around 90 or so guests! Audrey and Jackson stayed with their bridal party at The Flat at Journeyman the night prior to their wedding! The morning of their wedding, Audrey got ready with her girls upstairs in the cutest loft, while Jackson relaxed with the guys in the lower level.

They chose not to see each other prior to the ceremony because they wanted that incredible moment of walking down the aisle seeing each other for that first time. The girls popped champagne and drank mimosas from the cutest mimosa bar while getting hair and makeup done! They even decorated the suite with the prettiest balloons and decor for their bride-to-be! Audrey gave all her girls the sweetest, thoughtful goodie bags and gorgeous Plum Pretty Sugar robes, while Jackson gave all of his guy’s engraved hatchets!

The Bridal Party

Audrey’s dress was actually vintage! Though she bought it at Becker’s Bridal, it was on their vintage rack and had no tags so she didn’t know anything about it – other than that it looked perfect on her!! She wore a hairpiece by Twigs and Honey, Earrings and Veil by Sara Gabriel, and Shoes by Vince Camuto. Her bride tribe was dressed in a variety of pastel shades, and the entire look couldn’t have been chicer. After dressing, both the bride and the groom read letters which the other had written, and everyone was brought to tears!

The Flowers

Audrey envisioned a romantic, warm and intimate setting, mixed with the industrial/rustic style of the venue. The florals included lots of greenery, the tables and ceremony arch consisted of garlands of draping greenery mixed with floral elements. The main flowers used throughout the day were White Anemones, Blush Ranunculus, Blush Stock, White Roses, White Delphinium. For greens, dreamy Spiral Eucalyptus, Seeded Eucalyptus, and Tepee were used.

The Palette

She chose a color scheme of greenery, metals (copper and gold), and neutrals, blush, sage green, and white. The ceremony and reception were decorated with metal distillers chairs, long wooden farm tables, and hundreds of shimmering metallic votive candles. She even tied in her invitations to the metallic color scheme by incorporating copper foil on them!

The Ceremony

The ceremony was heartfelt and romantic. Happy tears were shed by every guest including the bride and groom. Audrey and Jackson hand-wrote and read their own vows to one another, and then did a special handfasting ceremony where they officially “tied the knot”.

The Reception

After the ceremony, 1928 Planning Co. completely transformed the space (Warren Hall at Journeyman Distillery) into a dining area. With long beautiful harvest tables, garlands of greenery, metal chairs, and copper and rose gold votives – the reception space was modern yet intimate. Audrey and Jackson prepared a welcome drink for their guests along with a special menu of hand-picked Journeyman’s handcrafted drinks.

Throughout dinner, their DJ played live music which was so unique! Though their cake was just for the two of them to cut and save, guests noshed on a delectable assortment of desserts – chocolate tortes, mini-cheesecakes, berry tarts, and more! After dinner, the party began and lasted deep into the night!

The Parent & Offspring Dance

One special thing Audrey and Jackson incorporated was during special dances! Audrey started her dance with Dad, then danced with her Step-Dad, and then invited all the fathers and daughter to the dance floor! Then after Jackson danced with his mom, all the mothers and sons came out to dance! It was so beautiful to see so many parents dancing with their kids – of all ages!

Wedding Advice & Budget Breakdown

Everyone will have an opinion on potential wedding dates, but you will never be able to please everyone, so get married when you want! We had known each other for a long time and I knew I didn’t want to wait to get married, so I planned the whole thing in 4 months. It can be done!

Soak up every moment and stay present. People always told me the day would fly by and it truly does. Try to enjoy every moment and trust that your vendors will take care of the work.
