Stunning Michigan Summer Wedding

Carly and Jarrod both come from farming families in Michigan, so it seems fitting that they celebrated their wedding at the beautiful Millcreek Barns. The versatile indoor and outdoor nature of the venue allowed them to utilize the natural backdrop of Michigan summer as a perfect compliment to the dressed up, rustic feel of their wedding decor.

DIY Decor Details

Jarrod and I dated seven years prior to our marriage on May 24th, 2014. We've been combining family and friends since High School and as a result, our wedding felt like a pretty big family party. Given our long history, it comes as no surprise that our families were very involved in helping create the finishing touches that pulled together our day.

The centerpieces were made by my grandfather out of recycled barn wood, the C & J letters were built by my father and the table runners and aisle draping were sewn by my mother. Our mismatched dinnerware was pieced together by my mother, aunt, and mother-in-law and I created our wedding menus, programs, chalkboards and place cards by hand. Our wedding was officiated by Jarrod's Uncle Craig, and our DJ was one of my High School teachers. We even had custom corn hole games created by Jarrod's Uncle and father.

Choose your date wisely

In the end, there were a number of family members and friends who helped set-up on the day of and truly bring everything together. We'll be forever grateful for their help and support! The day flowed beautifully, and I can truly say that it was a labor of love. Did I mention that because it was memorial day, we spent the weekend in a giant beach house with our entire wedding party? It seemed fitting, given that we're all great friends. What an incredible way to kick off the summer!
