Their day was homemade and simple in every aspect. They only had their close friends and family to celebrate with them, took their dream beach wedding photos, then celebrated with a simple dinner out! Sammy did her own hair and makeup, her mom did her bouquet, and every piece of the wedding day had the hands of their loved ones in it. She even rented her wedding dress so as to have zero waste!

Sammy and Hunter are some of the most rad people I've ever met - and they're one of the most in-love couples I've photographed. They met in college and always came to San Diego on their vacations. When Hunter popped the question on a beach in San Diego - Sammy knew they had to have their wedding in San Diego too.

Though neither of them are locals, they decided to have their closest family and friends join them in sunny San Diego, how fun!! This elopement, like so many, was made special by how few people were there. There's something unique about being surrounded by only those who are super close to you, and are in 1000% support of your love and lives together.

Sammy and Hunter wanted to save money everywhere they could, and they scored big by renting her beautiful dress from Bridal Brilliance Rentals in Salt Lake City. Sammy's mom has worked as a florist for years, and was able to put together Sammy's modern black and white bouquet. Sammy did her own hair and makeup and Hunter wore a suit he already had.

The day couldn't have come together more smoothly. These two got married in the San Diego LDS temple, which is a sacred building, and doesn't allow photography inside or during the ceremony. That part of the wedding day is kept private between the bride and groom - which makes the wedding day photography a little different!

I took photos immediately after the ceremony, as they come out of the temple, and are greeted in celebration by all of their family and friends. After that, we usually do all of the family photos, then are able to explore around the temple grounds a little bit to take some beautiful photos. It's a gorgeous white building, which makes such a beautiful backdrop. The area around the temple is filled with beautiful palm trees and landscapes, providing a variety of backdrop options. After photographing at the temple, we went to La Jolla Cove to take their photos with the San Diego beaches, which are so important to these two and their relationship.
