From the Bride:When Adam and I got engaged, we knew we wanted to be married at his parents’ home on the ocean in Gloucester, Massachusetts. We have Adam's parents to thank for scouting out the most amazing spot for the cer

emony. It was held on a granite rock in the shade of a large mulberry tree on a neighboring property. We had help from other loved ones too. Adam's mother Jane performed our beautiful marriage ceremony that included a poem by Emily Dickinson read by our brother and sister.

Lanesville, where Adam's parents live, is overflowing with natural beauty, especially in the summer. From the ocean to the granite to the driftwood to the flowers and trees, we felt we had the most beautiful wedding site already and didn't want to take away from it by adding too many unnatural elements.

With that in mind, Becca from Petal Floral Design and Emily from mStarr Event Styling + Design came up with the idea to use reclaimed wood for the base of the floral arrangements, which resembled driftwood from the beach, and Emily's table decor incorporated the blues and greens from the water and flora. It was beautiful - the setting, the ceremony, the reception and every other bit of it took our breath away.

Massachusetts is a very special place to us and we wanted our friends and families to experience everything we love about the summer there. One of those things of course is the food, so we decided to celebrate with lobsters and clams (fried and steamed).

Wedding desserts (whoopie pies and wedding cake) were made from scratch by my mother and sister-in-law, and two of our very talented friends spun sweet beats at our reception.

To be honest, I wouldn't change anything about the day. It was perfect and we were so happy. If I had to say something I think it would be that I should have been more organized when it came to a photography shot list. Looking back there are a few shots with friends and family that I wish we would have captured, but in the busy, overwhelming moment, I just didn't think of it.
