Bride in sneakers sharing a kiss on her wedding day

Romance was in the air for Ashley and Philips spring wedding! With shades of blush throughout, they personalized every detail to express the love and appreciation they had not only for each other, but for their friends and family.
From her amazing Katie May wedding dress, to the gorgeous DIY flowers throughout, and all the hints of bugs in between (Curious? Scroll down to find out more). Don’t miss a single moment from this rustic wedding in shades of pink by Volatile Photography. Check out the full gallery here.

Hues of blush

From the bride: My inspiration was based on the season we were getting married, spring, and nothing feels more like spring than the color blush.

The perfect venue

The planning process went exceptionally smooth in large part to how helpful and supportive our families are. The moment we walked in to Kenwood Ranch of Sonoma we knew it was the right fit for us. It was down to earth and had so much soul and most importantly it felt like us.

DIY flowers

The biggest DIY we accomplished was our flowers! We ordered from a couple local flower markets and after months of collecting glass bottles and my wonderful sister-in-laws practicing we pulled it all together in a team effort. I thought the flowers on the tables had a lot of character because they didn’t look absolutely perfect.

Hints of bugs

As homage to my late brother-in-law we sprinkled hints of bugs throughout the day, from the bees on the invitations, to “BUGS” written on the boys shoes, we wanted to make sure he was honored (“Bugs” was his nickname).
