It takes a village to plan a beautiful wedding, and with the help of friends and family, Taylor and Lauren had a gorgeous day with lots of DIY charm. Their Wyndridge Farm wedding featured chic details in shades of blush, with the added rustic touches throughout- the perfect mix of the bride and groom!

Style vision

From the bride: I love greenery, and wanted that to be the focus. The girls were wearing different shades of blush pink, so I knew I wanted leafy bouquets and details to compliment that. I didn’t want a lot of blooms, and therefore they only had a few light blooms in their bouquets. We also picked blooms that were softer for a romantic feel. For the guys, I purposely did not include many blooms in their boutonnieres, and instead used twine and eucalyptus.

DIY sign ideas

I loved making some of my own pieces for the wedding! I think this made it all feel very personal. My Maid of Honor lives in Colorado, so something special we did together when she flew into town to visit was to create our “love is kind..” aisle signs. We also added glitter to frames, created our own framed signs for cocktail hour, the open bar, and the cake table.

Flowers and favors

For flowers, we used garden roses, peonies, along with various other similar blooms. We also incorporated multiple types of eucalyptus as our focus. We combined favors and escort cards by adding flags to succulent pots that told the guests where they could sit. This was one of my favorite elements, as I loved having guests leave with something that they could take home and watch grow! We also saved a couple, and I love having them in our home now as well.

My cake table was exquisite, and I couldn’t have dreamt up a better setup! Our cake was a simple two-tiered white cake with whipped frosting. We had our baker place multiple larger blooms and sprigs of eucalyptus strategically on the top tier and base of the cake. Then, around it, we had somewhere around ten different varieties of cupcakes for guests to try. The flavors were labeled with succulents and flags and the cupcakes were layered and staggered by using glass cake stands, gold platforms, apple crates, and other various pieces that perfectly embodied our rustic chic theme.

Bridal advice

It should go without saying: don’t skimp on the photographer – that is how you will remember your day! It goes by so quickly, and I really enjoyed reliving certain moments and being able to enjoy them thoroughly through pictures. But that feels obvious to me. What I tell all of my friends currently planning their wedding – your day is about YOU TWO. Make it how YOU want it. There are going to be a million opinions thrown at you and really you don’t have to listen to any if you do not want to.
