A tropical wedding Extravaganza on a remote island in Puerto Rico

vanessavelez-25

Imagine saying "I do" with the sound of the waves crashing in the background, surrounded by lush tropical foliage, and the stunning architecture of a seaside castle. A destination wedding at a magical place can make your dreams of absolute beauty a reality.

This was precisely the case for a couple who wanted to give their loved ones an unforgettable experience. They chose to integrate the natural colors of the island and wooden elements to bring together a dreamy destination wedding. The ceremony took place in the historic San Cristobal Fort, a location that is rarely used for special occasions. However, with the help of their planner, Alexandra Rodriguez they made it happen.

San Cristobal Fort

San Cristobal Fort is a historic fortification located in San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is one of the largest forts ever built by the Spanish in the Americas and was constructed in the late 18th century to protect the city from foreign invaders. The fort sits atop a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, providing breathtaking views of the coastline and the city below.

The fort features a series of walls, gates, and ramps that were designed to make it nearly impossible for an enemy to penetrate. The intricate design of the fortification is a testament to the engineering skills of the Spanish military during the time period.

Today, San Cristobal Fort is a popular tourist destination, drawing visitors from around the world who are interested in exploring the history of Puerto Rico and the fortification itself. The fort is open to the public for tours and offers a glimpse into the lives of soldiers who once defended the city from attack.

In addition to its historical significance, San Cristobal Fort is also an architectural marvel, with its striking stone walls and towers that stand out against the blue sky. It is a testament to the enduring legacy of Spanish colonialism in the Americas and a reminder of the importance of preserving our shared cultural heritage.

Romantic wedding reception

They chose to integrate the natural colors of the island and wooden elements to bring together a dreamy destination wedding. The magic continued as guests were escorted to an oceanside outdoor space at the Caribe Hilton, a hotel that has stood the test of time since the 50s due to its breathtaking beauty. The design team created a unique area with soft pastels and exotic florals spread under a clear tent, meant to allow guests to dance under the stars.

It was an absolute perfection that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.
