Put Your Guests Up For the Night

From the Bride: Our dream was to have a celebration of our marriage. We wanted it very informal, laid back, but wanted to keep it classy and elegant. So, we decided to rent a home in La Jolla, CA that would be able to house all our guests comfortably. Well, we found THE PERFECT house! There was the backyard and then a cliff, and then the most incredible view of the ocean! Renting this house was another third of our budget.

Hint: Don't Procrastinate

I don't think we would have changed a thing about our wedding. Well, maybe planning it a little sooner. Josh and I were horrible procrastinators in planning our wedding because I was really overwhelmed by trying to have a nice wedding and not be in debt for the rest of our lives. We did this in 5 months, which we don't recommend if you are doing a destination wedding

The Wedding Bowl

Jacquelyn Mendoza of San Diego Destination Weddings helped us find a site to have our ceremony, which was at this BEAUTIFUL section of the coastline called Cuvier Park (aka the wedding bowl). It was a small grassy area but the views over looking the pacific were AMAZING!

Seafood Boil Dinner

We wanted to have a crab/seafood boil. I realize this doesn't sound very wedding like, and especially not a classy one at that. We knew our guests and they all were very excited about it. We got crab bibs, crab crackers, buckets to throw the crab shells and shrimp shells in, but mostly we had the most incredible view to look at while eating some delicious seafood by my Chef brother Ben Alexander!
