Leah and Kevin’s love story began years before their wedding day. They first met as co-workers, and their connection eventually led to a winter proposal at a cozy resort lodge in Sunriver, Oregon, surrounded by fresh snow and mountain air. From the very beginning of the planning process, they knew they wanted their wedding day to feel intentional, intimate, and rooted in the landscapes they love most. Rather than opting for a traditional venue, Leah and Kevin chose the remote and breathtaking Alchemy Sky Homestead in the Alvord Desert in southeast Oregon for their elopement planned with the help of Bowie Design Co. and captured by Taylor Denton Photography.
A cozy couple’s start to the day
On the morning of their wedding, the couple sipped coffee with their dogs, Timber and Louis, wandered through pockets of desert shrub with the Steens Mountains as their backdrop, and embraced a relaxed pace that perfectly mirrored the vast, serene landscape.
Black tie for every adventure
Kevin wore a classic black suit with bowtie, bringing that timeless black-tie elegance to their adventurous elopement.

Leah’s look struck a beautiful balance between timeless and romantic. She wore classic Kate Spade heels paired with a sleeveless wedding dress featuring a subtle slit that moved effortlessly in the desert breeze. Her ruffled-edge veil added a soft, ethereal touch, catching the light and wind in a way that felt especially magical against the open Alvord Desert landscape.
Floral style: organic elegance
Her florals echoed that same organic elegance – pastel-toned, wildflower-inspired arrangements that felt natural, airy, and perfectly suited to the vast, otherworldly setting.
Unique ceremony location: the playa
Their ceremony took place right on the playa, officiated by a close friend with their pups by their sides.
Golden hour hits different in the desert
The newlyweds made the most of the desert sunset, escaping with Taylor Denton Photography to take some golden hour portraits before the sun went down.
Private dining in a desert
What made their day truly unique was the celebration that followed: a stunning desert setup by Bowie Design Company featuring a candelabra, pearls, and soft florals glowing in golden light, and an evening spent curled around a campfire under the Milky Way.
