Life Long Love

From Christina Karst Photography: Alex and Wes have know and loved each other since childhood. They got married on her families property that in the last few years they turned into a wedding venue, The Country Knot. The bible she carried down the aisle 6 other women and multiple generations in her family have carried as well.

Handmade Wedding Day

They did everything. They built the farm tables, made the bouquets, designed the centerpieces (many of the nick knacks are from the family), and cooked the food.

The mantle they married in front of was the same mantle her grandparents married in front of. The row boat in the water has belonged to the family for some time.

DIY-ing Your Wedding

I am all about saving money where I can, so a lot of stuff we did ourselves.

Table Numbers: I cut up an old pallet, stained the pieces, and painted the table numbers on them.

Centerpieces: My mom collects antiques and I love growing succulents (the only plant that doesn't die within a week of being in my possession) so I got down a lot of antiques and threw some succulents in them and boom--centerpieces.

Farm Tables: I also love farm tables but couldn't find a local rental company that had a reasonable price, so we built them ourselves!

Flowers: I bought wholesale flowers--hydrangea, anemones, and other little filler flowers--for $300 and made the bouquets, boutonnieres, and ceremony decorations myself (after watching many youtube tutorials on how to DIY arrangements).

Breakfast For The Wedding

It just so happens that our favorite meal, breakfast for dinner or "brinner", is the cheapest thing you can eat, so we had friends and family volunteer to help whip up some pancakes, sausage, grits for the grits bar, biscuits and gravy, and eggs and got a couple hundred doughnuts from the Donut Shoppe for just $120!
